With a new head coach in Andrew Brunette and roster changes that include the additions of Ryan O’Reilly and Gustav Nyquist and the losses of Matt Duchene and Ryan Johansen, what is likely to happen for the Nashville Predators next season? On today’s Locked On Predators podcast we ask three big “What’s more likely” questions about the 2023-24 season. Duchene joins and already offensively robust Stars team. Is it more likely that Duchene or Filip Forsberg score more points next season for their teams? We debate what may mean more or less success for the two veterans. The Predators will be focusing on the youth, so we ask what’s more likely when it comes to breakout seasons for four young players. We share our safe bet for breakout player and also explain our dark horse picks. Finally, we take a hard look at the Predators’ October schedule. The Preds will be facing plenty of playoff caliber teams, but is it more likely they pull off some upsets or struggle to come away with a winning October record?

I WITH YOU ANN KIMMEL
Who will have more points next season – Filip Forsberg with the Preds or Matt Duchene with the Stars?
Great show! You throwed me a little bit under the bus in your last episode by understanding me wrong. No worries, you did it quite gently and Ann´s comment about farts and feelings was funny 😂Nevertheless you missed my point. I´m not having any specific feelings at all about the Preds, because I´m not a fan. Or I´m a fan, but I´m a Finnish hockey fan. I follow Finnish players in NHL and I wish them all the best. To me it´s absolutely no difference if Saros, Pärssinen and Kemell win the Cup with the Preds; Hintz, Heiskanen, Lindell and Hakanpää win the Cup with the Stars; Barkov, Lundell and Luostarinen win the Cup with the Panthers; Aho, Kotkaniemi and Teräväinen win the Cup with the Canes; Rantanen and Lehkonen win the Cup with the Avs; Laine and GM Kekäläinen win it with the Blue Jackets etc. You get the point. So why am I following this channel? This Locked on network gives me a lot of insight to the NHL and I´m following regularly a few of these channels. For some reason I´ve been following you two on the most regularly basis. So I guess I´m a Ann and Nick fan 😃 I have to admit that following this channel has as a side product increased my interest for the Preds as a whole. I´m not just following updates about only Saros, Pärssinen and Kemell anymore. Now I´m getting more involved in thinking about the next season of Glass, Evangelista and Tomasino too. So basically I was asking do you think that this rebuild has good enough building blocks for being contenders in the future? My use of the term Status Quo was perhaps confusing. A playoff spot and falling out in the first round would be a success in 2023-24. But a playoff spot and falling out in the first two rounds in three seasons a row from let´s say 2024-25 to 2026-27 would feel like returning to an old same Status Quo. Do you get my point?
