   Depth at defense is never bad. We had a lot of prospects at defense but we also traded a lot of defensive prospects lately.

   Not sure I believe all the hype when people start talking about handedness, but strictly on right handers he would be the fifth on the roster after Hamilton, Marino, Miller, and Nemec compared to the 9 deep on the left.

   Good zero risk signing. He’s been a bad player in the NHL but there’s probably some potential if his skating can improve. At the very least, he bolsters Utica with Walsh gone.

   I like it. Foote fetish puns aside, this is a large body 1st round talent whos 24. Why not?

   Probably means Nemec isn’t cracking the NHL this year. We are real deep now, and sliding his ELC would be awesome if possible. But he could always force himself in with a good enough camp.

   I do think Id rather see Foote as the 7th dman than Smith at this stage of their careers. I get that contractually that probably isn’t gonna happen, but I imagine Smith would clear waivers easily if we need to.

   I like it alot. Praise Fitz.
