Adding orlov is insane. I know we really wanted chychrun*(?) But we got a top 4 defenseman… even if it's just a rental orlov is 2x chychrun, because of his fit for this system.. incredible passing ability and breakout vision, he just makes that backend so deadly..
For the first time in forever I feel like we have the depth on defense going into the playoffs. The playoffs two years ago still haunts me.
I’m still trying to figure out how Orlov only had 3 goals and less than 20 assists with the Capitals.

Gryz is a good top 4 d during the reg season but his lack of size gets exploited every post season. He gets pushed around and tends to get hurt as a result.
Injuries are going to be an issue down the stretch, as they are every year, especially on the blue line. Everyone is going to get playing time, and GOOD players are going to be sitting in the press box some nights. Just think if Hall and Foligno are healthy come the playoffs what decisions will have to be made? Marchand, Zacha, Hall, Bertuzzi, Foligno, AJ Greer, & Lauko are all options on the left side. Where Boston is thin and can't afford any injuries is center because we don't have any guys in the AHL I would be comfortable with playing regularly at the pivot in the postseason, especially on the top 2 lines. I'm actually only comfortable with Coyle there on an emergency basis for 1 or 2 games. He gets FAR better match-ups playing on the 3rd line.
With the cap situation next season, would you move Grzelyck to extend Orlov?
Wasn't for the deal with the Caps. Thought they should done something with Arizona or Vancouver, but it turns out it was a good trade.

Honestly getting Bertuzzi and Orlov might be the difference this year. You can move Bertuzzi all over the lineup. He fits in everywhere.

If Orlov plays well in the playoffs, it would be great if they could re-sign him in the offseason.
For me gryz should be are 7th D. Not a big fan of coughing puck in the slot. If it wasnt for lindholm gryz would be -25 lmao
