JT: “I live in West Vancouver…it’s a nice quiet place to live….people are very respectful to me. They will either say “Nice game” or “nice turnover”.

    LOL.

Bro is really well spoken. Also cool hearing how much he likes playing in Canada

Off topic but damn those Heritage 3rds pop in photos. I always thought if they hadn’t gone with the all-white collar or added some white to the sleeves they’d have been better received. ^please ^^ignore ^^^my ^^^^flair

Jt’s not wrong here. The last ~2 seasons in particular have been a bit of a shit-show, and that was more or less the transition period between the Benning/Green era and the Allvin/Tochett era.

They more or less had an interim-coach for ~100 games in Boudreau.

Vancouver sports media is over bloated with “analysts” (lol) basically sensationalizing the most minute detail into a massive issue. These “analysts” or sports talk personalities all have each other on their platforms treating each other as insiders to spread their pessimistic storylines. Then fans buy into it and continue to spread the negativity online.

Vancouver needs to wake up and realize the off ice issues are compounding with the organizational shortfalls to create a toxic culture. Word spreads and soon Vancouver will be the next highly avoided team being included in NTCs (if they aren’t already).

It’s hard enough to convince talent to play in Canada. Add this shitty media environment and I don’t blame guys for looking elsewhere as an attractive place to sign.

I’m anticipating a stronger start to the 23/24 season with a more balanced back end that doesn’t need to lean on their #1 guy in so many situations. Hopefully we can help limit off ice distractions so these guys can get it done and get the Canucks back into the post-season.

I’m glad he explained the Delia “incident” (at 2:11:00) from his perspective and that he was just pissed that he had full possession behind the net and they didn’t have a plan. And he apologized to Delia, Boudreau and Ian Clark.

That was the same thing Bear said he noticed when he arrived from Carolina btw, saying no one had a plan or system here and was “every guy for themselves” on the ice every night.

He also thinks the team is better than last year now and they’re hard to play against with Tocchet, and they will surprise people. I’m really hoping this is true

  10. When Bruce took over from Green he had success, and to his credit didn’t want to tinker too much going into the next season because of that success. I think it was glaringly obvious that having systems in place going into last season was a must, and it was quite evident with the lackluster performance the team put on up until Tocchet took over. Bruce has never been big on systems and let’s player thrive with their own creativity, but the bulk majority of the Canucks last season are still learning and didn’t have their foundational to lean on in times the creativity just wasn’t flowing. I don’t expect the Canucks to knock our socks off this season, but I do expect their not going to have blown lead after blown lead again. Having a solidified system to lean on when trying to hold a lead is absolutely essential and that’s what Tocchet brings. I just hope that Tocchet allows our talented stars to make the magic happen as well or we’re going to be watching boring 1 point game hockey.
