Haven't watched much nucks… is Demko the real deal already? I know he was hyped as the next elite-level goalie a year ago but was still a work in progress.
Five years @ $5m per is a fantastic deal. Especially considering Marky got $6m x 6. Demko has a higher ceiling and is younger. Only downside is fucking calgary has Marky.
I think most fans would agree that a goalie and two players also playing goalie in the crease isn’t in the spirit of what hockey is. Players literally lying in the crease. I think we need a new rule for this, and I’m not saying that demko wasn’t amazing here, but I think they need to penalize players playing goalie behind the goalie.
While in the arena, I was surpised as to why the ref didn't call the play dead when he lost blocker. To a goalie, lost a blocker is as dangerous as losing a helmet!
The Irony in the NHL. pass rules to make the game safer, make players leave the ice when they lose their helmet, etc. But a Goalie can lose their blocker or glove and play can continue.. literally, the only person on the ice that can't leave the ice in the event of an equipment malfunction and that gets pucks intentionally shot at them and the play must continue. Wait until a goalies hand or wrist get shattered..

Once again the refs showing what teams they are favouring this year.
The refs are so stupid this year. Somebody could have a stroke and loose consciousness and they won't blow the play dead.
Why did the ref wait to blow the whistle until the 5th save? It's not like Demko had possession of the puck. So inconsistent.
After that sequence, I'm not even mad the Rangers lost in overtime. That man deserved that win.
I'm a Rangers fan but I have to admit that was impressive.
