Coming from a Leafs fan, this video just shows how Leafs focused the media is. For a video with the title instant analysis of Brayden Points contract, they talked so much about Toronto. I love to hear news about who is gonna play on certain lines and stuff, but this was not the video to talk about these things. They could have simply made a video called Toronto Maple Leafs preseason update and share this news there. Like why does everything need to be compared to Marner and the Leafs. I love my team and will watch them and cheer them on no matter what, but the media needs to stop being so biased towards us because it makes the rest of the league hate us

Tampa didnāt have the cap to give him anymore money, neither did the Bruins for Charlie. Those both had to sign for what they did or sit, Marner had more room to squeeze more out, the other two didnāt have have luxury, had the Bruins or Tampa had more cap space both along them would have gotten much more money.

Point gets taxed $1m less as compared to Ontario. Florida teams are so lucky, hes basically signed for $7.75m. Marner makes $5.087m after taxes, would be making $6.64 in Florida.
SALARY CAP SHOULD BE POST TAX.

Leafs had 2 choices either sign Tavares and subsequently inflate your 3 rookies next contracts or pay your 3 rookies reasonable contracts but not have Tavares.

Dubas has painted this team into a corner by over-paying his top 4 forwards. If depth starts to become a problem & āthe kids & PTOāsā are not enough these will be wasted years. He could have saved enough money between those contracts alone to land/fit either another top 4-D, a better back-up goalie, or a savvy depth forward. Letās see how he wiggles out of this one. I hope he does.

Depth , fifty 55 points higher then the next center on the team, elite skater in the league and stick handler, top transition numbers, always consistent as he lead. Multi point games with mackinnosn and Rantanen before injury in December aNd heās done this on an awful team That barely scored with two ankle sprains, no confidence in his goalie and to top all that off heās only 22, if this guy was a leaf I donāt even want to know how often his name was brought up.
I feel sorry for Mapple Leafs fans. It is going to be ok when you win the cup
The Leafs hired an inexperienced young guy to be GM. It's not hard to figure out, when he "blinked" on Nylander last year, everyone knew, especially Marner's agent. When you're preoccupied with trying to prove "you're right" and that you know "more" than everyone else, you make mistakes. Trying to be the smartest guy in the room never works. The old guys aren't doddering fools, sometimes they actually do know more, and have more experience.
Point is a better player than Marner,……Dubas overpaid Marner and now better hope they win or hes toast.
