  1. People seem to forget Petry quit on his team for months, basically quit. You may have also forgotten that numerous times goalies were ran with petry right there and did absolutely nothing, price had to fight the guy and Monty got steam rolled. he'll be gone shortly

  2. Petry is a good skater but montreal fan the hard core will boo him???? every time he makes a mistake of back away when he should defend team mates..????

  3. Just don't see Petry being around for long. From a rebuilding perspective, it's a backward move in my opinion. We already have more dynamic young defensemen coming up than we can place now, holding onto Petry really doesn't' make any sense to me. 🤷‍♂

  4. Wifi should get ice time before Petry. Petry gave up on the team the last season he was there. Wifi is nothing but heart.

  5. I loved Petry. Oh that smooth skating.. People saying he gave up on the team even though you're right he had personal/family reasons to want out and Ducharme was terrible. He cared and then it soured. Losing all our leaders was too much for him to handle. No more Danault, Price, Weber, Eddy (barely played), Perry (to some extent), Bryon etc..

  6. The content on this site is always off base and never consistent with the click-bait sensational headlines. Petry isn’t going anywhere.

  7. Petry was very very very bad in its last year as an Habs and not so good with the Pens last year,….he does not have a spot on the D roster…trade bait for sure

  8. Countless times during this rebuild coaches and management have stressed that beyond acquiring talent they are wanting to create an environment with a specific positive kind of culture, one where crappy attitudes like Petry had when he wanted out of Mtl are not allowed and do not belong. Remember when Kassian ran Montembault from behind, knocking off his helmet and falling hard, both Petry and Poehling did absolutely nothing and were right there, even the announcers were shocked no one cared. Hughes won't let Petry near the team unless he's done a total 180 in attitude. Besides that, I hope he moves him to make room for the kids, I don't wanna see Xhekaj in the press box half the season

  9. I was thinking the same thing as you Josh but they may need to play him at the start of the year and get his value up

  10. Petry didn't sign in Pittsburgh. Marc Bergevin is the one who gave him the contract. If the 15 name list was part of the contract, he wouldn't have included Montreal since he was playing for the team at the time of signing.

  11. IMO this was simply a move to get rid of Hoffman when he had no takers.
So Hughes and Gorton are going to just wing it but yeah I expect them to move at least two more pieces a goalie and a defenseman maybe also a forward.

  12. I had no problem with Petry he wasn't expected to be much at all and ended up being one of our best defensemen so yeah he was ok.However at this point he has very little value little value to any cup contender the Habs might eventually be and no value to any other team.
Guhle imo was not very good last year Savard was.Guhle would take off at bad times pinch in at bad times he just didn't play very smart.

  13. I think you’re correct in speculating. Family is from Detroit. Contract was signed while in Montreal so he wouldn’t have them on NTC

  14. I hope a big trade is brewing. Hughes needs to shake things up and make room for the rookies. their development and the teams depends on something big going down. 😀
