He played really well on a terrible Hawks team last season and is, supposedly, a great guy to have in the locker room. He also had concussion issues and has never started more than 36 games in a season, so this is purely a backup/insurance signing. If a Gibson trade was imminent, they probably would have gone after someone like Martin Jones. That said, this probably means Dostal starts the year in SD barring injury.
