GAA.ie profiles one of the 2017 AIB GAA Football All-Ireland Senior Championship Club Finalists in Dr Crokes by sitting down with forward Daithí Casey who details the club’s history and status in the local community. Being one of three clubs in Killarney, Casey explains how families and tradition have played a huge part in the success of Dr Crokes, citing the All-Ireland Club Final success in 1992 as a major point in the club’s history and in encouraging younger people to play for the club. Casey recalls his own involvement in the Dr Crokes underage section with current senior manager Pat O’Shea having managed him when he was growing and having instilled the desire to continue to practise in order to improve his game.
