“He [DeBrincat] may struggle at first being in a new city with a new team…” Bitch he from Farmington Hills! Who wrote this trash?

Couldn’t even finish this, seems way out of touch. At least with my understanding of the team. Our identity will be realized when more of Stevie’s picks get here, and I’m glad they’re letting them take their time even though I am dying to see more of them. Lalonde’s system seems to be in line with the qualities of the players we’ve targeted.

While we wait for a potentially pretty good core for a lot of years, Steve is trying out a bunch of guys each year to get the core guys already here used to competing and hoping to find a few surprise keepers like Walman and to a lesser extent Maata. The rest are all in place to be the last hurdle for all our best prospects to get over to prove they’re ready, and none of the contracts will hurt us at all in a year we can reasonably expect a cup run.

I also want to get back to the playoffs and see the Wings dominate like back in the day, but since we haven’t been gifted a McDavid level talent the progression seems to be coming along. While there are different strategies for team building at least we have consistency and a pretty good chance that our GM has a vision capable of succeeding.
