  1. A huge contract for one player making it very tough to sign other players, there go a bunch of good prospects and veterans!

  2. It's tough for the Nylander thing, it wouldn't be a bad pickup but you're risking losing some really good D men as a result…eventually.

  3. Even if Nylander, the Habs and the Leafs would be interested, which i doubt, it's not the right time for the habs to acquire such a high price player. The playoffs are still at least 1-3 years away. So all this would do is create cap trouble.
You could make the argument that Nylander would get us to playoffs faster, but i disagree.
Finally, his salary is a reflection of the Leafs payment structure. I would prefer to see him a year or two in a different team before considering to sign him. Of course, life doesn't work like that, but meh

  4. No thanks. Too much cap space for what he brings. It would make it tough to sign Guhle, Dach, Arber, etc.

  5. Dude wants the bag and the Habs won't pay him more than they are their captain and goal scorer. Pretty sure Willy's lookin' for the big 10 minimum. I'd pass.

  6. No thanks, we need that money to resign our top prospects. And it's too early to spend that money, once our core players develop into Cup contenders then yes, we'll spend the extra money. But until Carey's contract is over, we can't do that.

  7. I've been calling on the Habs to get Nylabder for years. The longer he goes without an extension the more possible it becomes.

  8. No thanks. We don’t need to repeat what Toronto did adding a high priced contract especially in this case as I don’t think he’s worth a contract over 9m

  9. Hell nah! Nope, we are NOT doing this again. I’m sorry but he doesn’t fit in the organigram of Kent Hughes. If we sign him, then we are unnecessarily closing down the window of the team needs to win a cup NOW. CAREY Price signed a contract similar to what Nylander’ s demanding around the same age and we’ve suffered from it. Nylander is not worth 10M, he’s not a superstar. He’s good piece to add around superstars but he won’t ever hit the 100 points and he played with MATTHEWS AND MARNER AND TAVARES all he’s career. What happens when all the heat is on him now that he’s the best player of the team? Nope, we’re good without him. We’re gonna have to resign our young core for long term contracts, we have a to set our priorities straight

  10. Josh I watch ALL your videos right to the end. One of the best Habs channels out there. Because of you I'm primed for next season and I haven't felt this giddy in a long long time. GO HABS GO!

  11. That is why he isn't any part of decision making for the Habs. Someone like Nylander he is a UFA next year so it wouldn't cost the team anything for a trade. But his demand on a 10 plus mill would definitely hurt other contracts. If Cole and Suzuki are able to accept their contracts for the team Nylander should show this consideration as well.

  12. I can't unsee the blonde stach contrasting the dark hair!! 👀 jkjk amazing habs content as always, thanks for the update <3

  13. He is still under contract with the Maple Leafs in 2023-2024 with a Non-Movement Clause. The Maple Leafs won't let him go for nothing. This year, Next Years is a free agent can sign anywhere but he would like to be welll paid on his last NHL contract. I pass on Nylander. Very good player but too expensive. The only way to acquire Wiliam Nylander is to get rid of Brendan Gallagher (6,5M$) and Joel Armia (3,4 m$)! = 9.9 vs 10 M$ for Nylander. But something makes me think we will trade 2 bad contract for another one.
