Update: The NHL has rescinded the embellishment penalty call. He was talking a shot off balance after being hooked.
I’m a Sabres fan and yes the hook may have contributed to the fall but no way in hell its a dive bad call in general

I guess that's what happens when your teams full of diving pukes… the refs start looking for it even when it's not there.
How can you call embellishment when the guy was completely focused on finishing the play.

I actually think it was the right call. Chabot hooked lehtenen in the torso area, and lehtenen’s right foot came up and he fell, trying to imitate a trip.
For latecomers to this video, the penalty was rescinded. The goal still doesn't count, but at least that's 2 less PIM on the stat sheet and no chance of an embellishment fine.

I really cant call that embellishment and I'm a die hard Boston fan.. Hab player Lethonen had an excellent chance to score, if he wasn't in so tight you could almost say he had a breakaway. Point being, Lethonen had an excellent chance to score so WHY would he fall down unless he was tripped. It just wouldn't make sense. Plus, even if he didnt have a scoring chance, I honestly dont think it was embellishment. Bruin fan or not, I called it as I seen it..

He was in a shooting motion when he was getting hooked, there was NO embellishment anywhere.
This has to be one of the worst, maybe even the worst call in the entire NHL.
I’m not a habs fan either, but even I found this a terrible terrible call.
If I was in the coaches' shoe, I would not be furious. I would be surprised and accept it.
Has this ref never played hockey or does he not understand that jumping like that allows you to make the shot you otherwise probably couldn't? It's a diving play, not embellishment.
