It might honestly happen this upcoming year

Pretty sure McDavids 2015-2016 is up there. He played like 40 games or something, still produced at over a ppg, and was 4 or 5 years younger than Panarin.

It’s funny that Crosby and Gretzky both never won the Calder. I know Gretzky wasn’t eligible, but still.

Joe Juneau had 102 points and don’t even get 1 first place Calder vote haha. Lindros finished 4th that year and he 75 in 61

Zetterberg had 44 points and lost to Jackman, who had 19 points. Dude got robbed.

In the 1981-82 season Neal Broten went 38-60-98 in 73 games. He finished fourth in the Calder voting behind Dale Hawerchuk (103 points in 80 games), Barry Pederson (92 points in 80 games), and Grant Fuhr (28-5-14, 3.31 GAA, .898 SV%).

Edit to add: Ron Francis finished 10th that year.

It’s gotta be Ron Hextall, I don’t remember the numbers but he came in and dominated his first year, won the vezina, and conn smythe but somehow was snubbed the calder, pretty sure it went to robitaille if memory’s correct

Let’s not forget there were also two #1 generational picks fighting for the Calder in 2005. There was a lockout in 2004 and Ovi didn’t get to play. If there’s no lockout then most likely Ovi wins it in 04, then Sid comes along and wins it in 05.
