  1. Eichel had 66 points last year and a Stanley Cup. I’d be happy with that any year.

  2. He is also the captain. Which comes with a immense amount of pressure in Montreal. Most captains of other teams would demand a raise if they wore that C on their jersey in Montreal. Plus Suzuki is a beast. He never takes a night off. I think his contract is pretty darned good. He is my favorite Montreal Canadian.

  3. If you look at even how he speaks, he sounds like he studied Gretz, Lemieux, Cros and St. Louis. He’s there now!

  4. i dont get what they want from him ! he had 26 g 70 pts and is excellent in defence, face offs, can't really ask for more from the kid !

  5. The Athletic has long been anti Montreal Canadiens. We don't need their « good grace ». Suzuki is a "gamer" and he has proven it through all his junior years, in the bubble and in the push to the cup final in 2021.
👉🏻 Expect nothing from the outside, let's be strong from within to fight adversity.
    👉🏻 Skeptics will be confounded…

  6. Relax those people like players like Marner who only care about points and not winning. Suzuki is the kind you want in the playoffs.

  7. Wasn’t Suzuki top 10 in that new complicated assist created statistic everyone was sharing around recently. How the hell is that empty points.

  8. For Suzuki…

With the canadiens last year You JUST had to stop the first line of scoring.. the rest will do nothing anyhow.
Suzuki then does PK, does Power play, play equal minutes…

Suzuki will get more points with more equal points and less pk.

  9. Suzuki got 66pts last year with half the team injured. And they were near the bottom of the league. How can people not see now good he is.so many people are brain dead.

  10. I fully agree with the poor contract because I stated so BEFORE it was even signed because I knew how stupid they would get just because they like the player.
Clayton Keller MUCH better so far got paid 6 million and Konecny last year played at a pt /gm and th eflyers consideredhim not good enough yet he was paid much less than Nick.
Nick is a second line player unless someone is trying to say he matches up versus the leagues best?So they paid a SECOND line player 8 million AND he hasn't even produced offensively.I can look back at an actual GREAT second line player a former Hab >>Mike Keane a multiple Stanley cup winner and a player that carried a PLUS the BEST plus forward on the last teams cup in 93.
Suzuki has not yet been a plus he does not get many shots he is not good in the corners and so far NONE of the forwards backcheck properly.
The one thing analytics don't show is how to convince rabid fanbois of a players true actual worth.
I like Nick a LOT I love Cole a lot but they are NOT first line players they are a MINUS playing versus the leagues best they need to be playing against other teams second lines.

  11. I will add some SIMPLE math >>>if a Manager pays even on avg 300k a player over 30 players that is 9…NINE million wasted.
