I think the conversation of “the west is weak” needs to be reconsidered, especially when it comes to the pacific division.
Congrats to Vegas and Seattle being competitive right from the get-go, but what about teams like Vancouver that have been struggling for over fifty years with no Cup.
Hard to have an identity when you switch out 33% of your roster 6 weeks before playoffs.
What you can learn for the Golden knights is very simple. Be able to pick top six player from every NHL team as you enter the league. That’s guarantees a team that coaches and GM’s could only dream of. Some teams have to take 10-15 years just to build up a crop of top players. Vegas got it all in one year. So you’re looking at a super NHL team that’s stacked from top to bottom.
We can learn that to cheat NHL rules work just like the Bolts already showed everyone very few years ago 🤣.
And we can learn that it's better to be a certain Conference and not in the other one to let the strongest teams to eliminate each others to have you to reach the final quite peacefully 🤣.
And we can learn that a team playing in a team is better than a team relying on 2 or 3 players at best.
Seriously, stop with what can de learn. We had the same with the Bolts and then nothing special to learn. The same with the Avs and again nothing special to learn. It's sport. Nobody expected the Cats who miraculously got the last WC to eliminate the Bruins, the Leafs, and the Canes who were the 3 best teams of the season. What can we learn from that? What can we learn from Bob? Lost his job in the regular season for an AHL goalie and then played in the playoffs like the most dominant goalie ever seen over the last 2 decades 🤣.
We learn nothing.
We're ready.
We can learn if you're team is from Vegas and can help get bigger TV deals and more sponsorships… and ohhh let's not forget the constant gambling presentation every ad and the announcers bringing it up every single second.
we can learn your best player can milk an injury all season only to come back in time for the playoffs
Even if you make it to the Cup Final, you should never be satisfied with losing. If you want to win, you have to make the tough decisions and massive roster changes needed. You CANNOT BE SATISFIED WITH ONE SERIES WIN IN SIX YEARS!!!!
What can we learn? A couple things. When a team tells another team they don't want them on their team, and gives them up for low draft picks it motivates that player to get revenge. When a team tells a player, hey, we are going to expose you, and pay Vegas a 1st round pick to make sure they take you, it motivates them.
When Florida told Marchy, hey we don't want you on this team so much, we are going to give Vegas Reilly Smith to get rid of you.
When LA tells McNabb, we want you gone so badly, we are giving them Theodore.
When the Capitals tell Stehpenson they want his gone so badly, they only want a 5th round pick.
When you tell Adin Hill, the Sharks barely want a 4th round pick for him..
Then you hire a coach who just took Boston to the playoffs, fire him for another coach. It motivates that coach to want to win.
It takes an owner who wanted to win the cup more then he cared about money. It took a Management team and front office that wanted the cup so badly they were willing to fire not 1, but 2 coaches who consistently got out coached in the playoffs, did not have the respect of the locker room, and was willing to move players no matter how much the fan base loved them.
That's what it took for Vegas to get here.
Boring
To have success in the NHL you must make moves , that's one thing they are not afraid to do , nobody is untouchable
VGK doesn’t have a bottom six. Every line is expected to succeed.
Circumvent the salary cap
About time someone actually says it. It is not a new idea but like you said
Analytics is A PART of the process of putting a TEAM together
… what can we learn from Vegas GK's is this;
Their owner Bill Foley Jr. actually 'wants' to win!
He is not afraid to make the right moves to get the job done!
The Maple Leafs minority owner and the two corporate owners are only concerned with selling the seats at highly inflated prices that the forever loyal long suffering fan cannot afford.
THE LEAFS OWNERS DO NOT GIVE A DAMN ABOUT WINNING!
VEGAS, IN SIX YEARS is poised to win the Stanley Cup tonight.
Bill Foley Jr. said so and rveryone laughed at him!
… who is laughing now?
What have The Leafs accomplished since 1967 to now, … NOTHING and they never will as long as the fans keep showing no matter what!
The Leafs hire a pizza delivery boy as their new GM, … HA! ya, sure!
What have the Arizona Coyote's accomplished, … nothing, ever, a total disaster allowed to play in not even a minor league arena seating 4,500 the most expensive ticket being $25.00.
What can we learn from Bill Foley Jr. … obvious and clearly a lot and a great deal and amount.
Good day
New school meet old school
(Pay attention Kyle)
The Devils are known in the past and right now keeping all the lines even and together…they arent moving them every year….they are 90% drafted by NJ
Well we can learn just like Evander Kane did! F around and find out! We showed the world true talent. HAIL THE CHAMPS!!!!!!!
We learn how to cheat the salary cap
