You can't say a good running back can be picked in the 3rd round in the modern day NFL and now give Josh a 3 year fully guarantee contract. I love him but he does get injured and you've detailed his lack of explosive speed in the open field. The life of a running back is short unless they share it with another one which means Zamir or somebody else has to carry a load to why pay 12 mill to JJ?
I know this is something to talk about when there's no much to talk about but he'll be in before week one so it's a what ever situation

The one unavoidable truth about the Josh Jacobs situation is that the Raiders have now crossed the line into being absolute douchebags when it comes to their players. The Tag was only ever meant for QBs, WRs, DTs, DEs… (players who are expected to have long careers with the team and who will be paid enormous amounts of money over their careers) The Raiders using the tag for an RB is total BS and a straight up finger at Josh Jacobs. Ziegler is showing his true colors now. This isn't just business, it's dirty pool. This is the kind of behavior that destroys the soul of an organization and turns it into just another business.

The Tag was meant to give a team a chance to keep a player that they have developed and intend to build their franchise around for the next decade. It gives one year after the rookie contract to come up with that mega-fat, long-term deal that is difficult for any organization to do, especially with 31 other teams being able to make a play for him in the free agent market. The Raiders have no intention whatsoever of building anything around Jacobs. They just want to bleed the guy for all he's worth before kicking him to the curb. The only way to change it is for fans and people like you, Sanjit, to ball up and call it out.
Bet you Jacobs does the right thing and stays because he wants to be a Raider.
It's kinda sad cause Jacobs had to fight for his job last year by showing his worth in PreSeason. If you remember there was all these rumors about JJ being traded. DZ wasn't very hyped about Jacobs in his comments. Now JJ is fighting for his retirement money – the payout of his career. I tend to agree a 3yr 36M should work, and it sounds good but that is without knowing the details. I am not that confident in ZWhite, and I think this team need Josh Jacobs. I hate this time of year it's always ugly with contract disputes.
Three years is a good deal Josh wants full guaranteed and I'd give him that only if healthy because you can't afford help if he goes down .

Jacobs is delusional as to how much he's worth. He really thought teams would line up for his "services" which did not happen. Unload him for a 3rd round pick and move on.
