My main point of optimism with the D is that Mike Weber can run a system that they buy into better than whatever Van Ryn was doing.
We aren't getting any more defensemen this offseason unless somebody randomly decides they want one of our other ones after a whole year of shopping them to anyone who will listen. We have 8 on 1-way contracts then Calle Rosen who was our best last year is the only one on a 2-way. Also have less than 1/2 of a league minimum contract available in cap space. Like it or not, this is the defense we're getting.

Oh come on Haley. You got to watch what you say on here as you are not making any sense. First of all the Blues are NEVER going to be like Boston. They are a small market team. They will NEVER go after the big name FA’s. They don’t have the money to spend for them. Pretending that they do or that they will is pretty ignorant to the history of the team. They did get Wayne Gretzky for half a year but then couldn’t keep him. Plus have you EVER seen the Blues seriously in the running for a elite FA. No! Have they ever gotten one? No! This team will never be Boston. All Blues fans know this. You should too. The ownership will not splurge out the cash for one.
Also you say that you do not want to blame individual players. Yet you call out Calle Rosen to do better. Are you aware you are contradicting yourself? Rosen was probably the best defender on the team last year. Call out Krug. Call out Parayko. But don’t call out Rosen. He was the best player out there on D last year.
