  1. Can't really dispute this as a Leaf fan. At this point we just have to hope for the best because there's nothing we can do except not pay to go to games. Still hoping for success though because I love the Leafs.

  2. crosby did the same weber was making 14m a year in 2012 i think and sid took 8.7 and geno 9 to bring in kessels boninos haglins and keep fleury

  3. Who cares? They'll all make more in their NHL careers than 99% of us will ever make working our entire lives. Clearly they are greedy, plus the agents get a percentage of their signing, so it doesn't help that agents are pushing for the higher salaries. The way I see it is that they are welcome to the money, but it comes with a price. The price is the Leafs never winning a cup as long as they keep tying up half of their salary cap in 4 players. That Tavares contract really isn't aging well. To think that he wants to help them win and then suffocates their ability to do so with his contract. Great captain material, haha!

  4. Laff nation is absolutely pathetic!! Trash can franchise. Losing dynasty 1967-2023 continues 😂

  5. Here's what the Leafs lack, a team first system. I'm going way back here, but these things stay true regardless of era, 200 foot teams wins, it was how the Leafs won their cups in the 1940s and the 1960s. Vegas made my point for me, they are a good team first defensive squad that could make an alright goalie look like a hall of famer. The Leafs have constantly tried to be the offensive firewagon team, and it only brings regular season results, in the playoffs they try to turn into the tight team, but they have to do that all season long. Trading Nylander could bring the right amount of depth needed for a winning formula. They need a championship culture, that means the regular season is treated as a means to the goal, the Cup.

  6. The "core four" of this team are the most selfish players in the NHL and all Kyle Dumbass did was enable them. They may say they want to win but in no way shape or form are they willing to do what it takes to win.

  7. How can you say any differently when pretty much every decision they're making seems to revolve around getting every crumb of money possible? The reports are saying that on his next deal Matthews is only gonna take a 3-5 year deal so he can get one more huge contract before his career ends.

  8. Yes, I fault the guys for taking "the bag" you play hockey to win the cup, not to be greedy spoiled brats, and that's EXACTLY what Matthews is doing with his new contract, and that's EXACTLY what Marner will do, Tavares wasn't worth the money they gave him, Nylander is not worth $10 million, so ya, they all care more about money than winning.

  9. Wow, you would whine and make a video about this narrative… you are the one creating the narrative with videos like this, and yet you whine like it's other people and not you… sneaky little 😈

  10. They really don't care about winning. It's painfully obvious that the core 4 only care about squeezing every last dollar out of the cap. Just imagine showing up to work and your boss says "hey we need you to take less so your coworkers can make more"

  11. Look who our playoff opponents were. I mean the only real choking job was in the bubble against the toilet seats. And I'm not gonna sugarcoat fuck all. It was an epically brutal choke job.

The thing is that Dubas was an assclown. He thought that the cap was going up and keep going up. So he let Tavares' agent play him like Alicia Keys on a piano. We can't even buy his ass out if we wanted to.

These next contracts are going to tell us how committed the players are to winning.

  12. I am at a point, where I hope JT and Matthews are gone as soon as possible… I guess a leader could kick Mitch in the nuts and he would turn it around, but the other two are just caring about money plus JT is way overpaid for his age… You dont pay players on future accomplishments, nor on those of the past!!!

The Leafs are fucked until those greedy guys are gone!!! Hope Domi and Bertuzzi work out… So we can let Matthews play in Hollywood or whatever…

  13. I lost a lot of respect for Marner when after a humiliating loss he showed up to the after game press conference wearing a fedora and a thick chain. He looked like he was dressed as a pimp for halloween and clearly cared more about looking cool and trendy on camera than anything else

  14. There’s so many fucking ways for these guys to make money and can you honestly tell me Auston would ever in his life notice the difference between making 12.5 and 13.5? These guys haven’t proven even once that they give a shit about winning and until I see Auston’s name next to a contract extension under 13 mil I will never truly believe this team can win.

Don’t get me wrong, I want them to. But they’re so fucking stuck in this insane philosophy that everyone can make all the money in the world and still win the cup and it’s so far beyond infuriating.

Like seriously, can someone please explain to me how in the everliving fuck the Leafs just HAPPENED to get stuck with the greediest superstar in the history of the NHL with their first #1 overall pick in decades? Every other first overall player has treated their team better than Auston has. I really don’t get why these guys believe they can ever win like this.

  15. ZERO doubts that AM34 and MM care more about the AAV than winning. Auston will fleece the Leafs in his next deal and Mitch will rinse and repeat.
Tre should have shipped MM´s arse out of Toronto when he had the chance, but i´m (almost) sure the real GM of the Leafs didn´t let it happen.
