  1. Both players are very good. Crosby is a much better all around player but Alex is a superior scorer. Every team would love to have both players both are unique but very different!!

  2. I can't recall any other player vs player rivalry ever being this great. Coming into the league with completely opposite "public" personalities. Two completely separate skill sets. Continuing in the same division on the same teams for this long. And, neither is showing signs of slowing. The team success just adds to two legends that will only continue to grow.

  3. it is a rivalry that will always be remembered – one of the best or not the best in modern day hockey. It could be a long time before we see this again

  4. They are two great hockey players. In that era the play the game in the NHL. What we see we go back and we go to the Future the greatest hockey players play the game.. little fire hydrant muscle Dion LA Kings never Stanley cup…. flurry Stanley cup.. flames. Brian . New Jersey devils Stanley cup not once or twice.. never drafted.. my favorite hockey player.. my most important favorite player my idol Matt naslin. A winner Stanley cup. Little Marty St Louise Tampa Bay lightning me growing up that was my idol and so wasn't Matt neslin. for the Montreal canadiens. Stanley cup winner… Boston bruins Brad michaud. Stanley cup winner 2011. Thank you I was at that parade.. . guys I pick up and watched in the NHL Cliff running. I love the way he weaved it out. How we have control of the puck. And nobody can hit him. 57. He was my favorite guy watching growing up playing hockey in the NHL.. I can go down the list I can go to the say all kinds of names my favorite player growing up was Matt neslin Martin Saint Louise Theo Flory Vancouver Cliff running.. never mind about the last names I'm just saying these little guys look good to me because I watched them play the game I was just touching and grabbing. The whistles in the pocket. And the refs call everything today when I have to put somebody else in there Brad michaud. My Boston.and hero for the Boston bruins thank you. For the 2011 Stanley cup

  5. Comparing Ovechkin to Crosby is this a joke? one is a floater and opportunities (with a good shot mind you) and the other is a two way superstar.

  6. As they have matured I just don't think it's much of a rivalry. They are both amazing, and very different players. As a Caps fan I am biased to Ovie, but have nothing bad to say about Crosby and the excellent teams the Pens have put on the ice. Happy we were able to get one in '18. Would have been a real shame if Ovie had never gotten to hoist it.

  7. It’s era ending, those days will never came back. Years of 2007/2009 when we were young and full of hope’s. And hockey was great.

  8. People forget that Cromwell had 16 points in the last Olympics that they were allowed nobody talks about that the only thing they talk about is Crosby scored the winning goal

  9. If I had to pick one to be on my team it definitely be Crosby. His puck handling skills, knowledge of his surroundings and his passing are probably best ever. The 2010-2011 season Crosby was on par to get 65 goals and 135 points that season before he got hurt. Not to mention if he doesn’t get hurt they are favorites to win the cup that year.

  10. It's impossible to compare eras of hockey, so I'll keep it to this era, because the Gretzky vs. Crosby vs. Ovi discussion is tiring and we simply don't know how transplanting anyone into a different era would go down. That all being said:

Crosby is the best 200-ft player of this era.
Ovi is the best goal scorer of this era.

Add the fact that they both stayed with the team that drafted them, and it made history. When they retire, it'll be a sad day for hockey. Caps vs. Penguins was must watch TV when playoffs came, and my only regret is we lost 2ish seasons of Crosby to concussion issues.

  11. go watch either of these guys play on any night. The argument is still the same Ovi is a very one dimensional player meanwhile Crosby does it all. I will take Crosby anyday of the week even when it comes to goal scoring

  12. About the "complaining" of Crosby. I was in high school I believe when these two entered NHL. Anytime Crosby was on ice, someone tried to completely demolish him. One play for example, he went in between the defenders, one missed it, the second one just skated right into his legs, almost breaking is knee pretty much. No shotout. No penalty. Or when that one guy who pretty much broke his teeth, ref did nothing, then he got slashed to the face the same game, nothing again. I think Crosby actually got penalty for talking back to ref or something if I remember correctly. I stopped watching NHL 2 years after that but saw some games here and there. But it was pretty clear at that time that teams knew he was the best player on the ice and they could not leave him alone otherwise he would score.

  13. Much respect to sid after all these years. As a fan of the game in general I think this is the closest we will ever get to having a hockey version of Bird and Magic.

  14. Alexander Ovechkin and Sidney Crosby are two of the most talented and successful players in the National Hockey League (NHL) today. Both players have achieved incredible success on the ice, and their rivalry has been one of the most exciting and closely watched in the sport in recent years.

Ovechkin, who is from Moscow, Russia, is known for his incredible goal-scoring ability and his physical style of play. He has won the NHL's Rocket Richard Trophy for the most goals in a season nine times, and he has also been named the league's Most Valuable Player (MVP) three times. Ovechkin has led the Washington Capitals to a Stanley Cup championship in 2018, and he has been a dominant force in the NHL for more than a decade.

Crosby, who is from Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia, Canada, is known for his incredible skill and leadership on the ice. He has won the NHL's MVP award twice, and he has led the Pittsburgh Penguins to three Stanley Cup championships. Crosby is also known for his work ethic and his commitment to improving his game, and he is widely regarded as one of the best players in the history of the sport.

The rivalry between Ovechkin and Crosby has been one of the most closely watched in the NHL in recent years. The two players have faced each other in the playoffs several times, and their head-to-head matchups have been some of the most exciting and closely watched in the sport. Both players have enjoyed incredible success on the ice, and their rivalry has helped to drive interest in the sport and to raise the profile of the NHL around the world.

In conclusion, Alexander Ovechkin and Sidney Crosby are two of the most talented and successful players in the history of the National Hockey League. Their rivalry has been one of the most exciting and closely watched in the sport, and their incredible skill and leadership on the ice have helped to raise the profile of the NHL around the world. Whether you are a fan of Ovechkin or Crosby, there is no denying the incredible impact that these two players have had on the sport of hockey.

  15. Ovi has to be the most overrated hockey player of all time. If you look at career stats for shooting percentage he doesn't even rank in the top 50.
