I doubt it. Their blueline is reasonably young, locked down to team friendly AAV. That alone gets them to 82 points

Not by a long shot. I have lived in Boston for 26 years, and pronounced them dead several times, but now I know better. They have some interesting prospects coming up, and they have a lot of UFA coming off the books 24/25. This season, they could make a trade or two and be right back there in the hunt.
It won’t be a presidents season, for sure, and the eastern conference overall has teams on the rise. But there are also teams on the decline too, so it will all balance out.

Sweeney has horseshoes. Check out the 2015 draft. Pretty much screwed up on 3 first round picks. Look at who he passed on. Think about where they would be with some of those missed picks in the lineup. Sweeney then grabs some all stars in other drafts with lower picks.
