How do they rate against Shake shack? My typical pre-game meal has been a pair of Shackburgers and a beer at the NYNY one, and then I get a hotdog at the one inside Tmobile for the Thrill.

Texan here, Whataburger isn’t what it’s cracked up to be. It’s higher quality than like a McDonald’s or Wendy’s for sure, but I’d say that its allure is more about the variety than its peaks. Everything is above average, the spicy ketchup and patty melts are always a great choice, and I personally have to grab the buffalo ranch chicken strip sandwich every time it comes back.
As far as the burger itself goes, In-n-Out and Shake Shack both have it beat IMO.

It’s a greasier Carl’s Jr. / Hardees, honestly. There are better burger places in Texas. Honestly, though, Vegas has a drought of boutique burger places. We got the standards here, but mom/pop burger joints are not a dime a dozen. Everyone raves about Fuku, I heard good things about Joy Burger, but I want that mom/pop touch. If anyone has suggestions in Vegas, let me know.

This is lower on my list than getting one at Fremont, but still a great area. WB is all about late night people watching. Well, that and wildly variable quality (this is the main difference between WB and In-n-Out, besides variety. In-n-Out is the same everywhere, WB has major peaks at a ‘good’ WB, and horrific lows at the bad ones).
