1 year/$1.6m is such a non-factor contract wise that if he does anything positive it’ll be good value.
Creates a tight, tight room if EK is on the table still. Burns/Pesce/Chatfield/TDA/Coghlan at RD, Slavin/Orlov/Skjei at LD.
Classic DW move. Loses zero assets and saves almost $1M in cap space when compared to the original trade.
That’s a bargain basement price, good work by DW. Hopefully it pisses TDA off that his value went down and he channels that into better defense and some offensive spark (and absolutely not into any extracurriculars or goonish play)

We probably could have gotten him for half that price. I haven’t heard of any other team wanting him. I had him at around $850k. And maybe playing forward since he sucks at defense.

Low cost and only one year. Liked in the locker room and knows the system. Will add a little bit of grit(with Lemieux), he’s not afraid to drop the gloves if needed and will help our powerplay and offense. I like it.

If we get him I believe we will be out of the EK65 deal at that point. Just my personal opinion.

This move doesn’t even solve any issues or make us stronger. It doesn’t solve toughness and he’s such a liability his offense doesn’t make up for it.
