If Kane wants to sign a league minimum contract I might be ok, but Kane is very one dimensional.

I would not be excited about PK. I would like to trade (or buyout) granlund and bring in Tatar for 1-2 years. Then the 3rd line could be rust-ellar-tatar.
I say get him for $2M for 1 year? go for it. Put him on the #rd line, If Rust goes streaky, move him up to Malkins Wing.

Im a chicago transplant in pittsburgh so i definitely enjoy and entertain this discussion. Kaner is at the same unfortunate decining level of crosby malkin and letang. that being said… he does make the penguins better. if we're comparing him v brian rust for 2023/2024.. Kaner is the better player even at his age..
