The REFS won’t let Goalies FIGHT anymore…

Goalie FIGHTS are a rarity in Today’s NHL…and it likely stems from one specific fight between Rick DiPietro and Brent Johnson in 2011. When Jordan Binnington and Marc-Andre Fleury were ready to drop the goalie mitts last night, many Hockey fans were disappointed by the refs decision to stop the fight before it could happen. Unfortunately, this is likely to stop rivalries from spiraling out of control, and leading to another “FIGHT NIGHT” scenario like had happened in 2011.

  1. How are you gonna be friends later if you don't let them fight?

  2. I was at a HUGE goalie brawl game back in the day. NJD at home vs NY Islanders.
Backup starter Corey Schwab in the middle of what would have been his first win had a HUGE brawl with birdcage man Tommy Soderstrom.
Tommy got absolutely SMOKED & had a huge shiner for nearly a month.
    Schwabby laid the lumber!

  3. yawn, another hocky slap fest. wake me when someone actually does some real damage like sending someone to the ICU.

  4. Ok how are we not talking about Detroit and Colorado in this video. Best goalie fight ever. Osgood and Roy

  5. Is that why there was one at the Bruins game the other night with the refs just standing there?
