The Vancouver Canucks have made three free agent signings on defencemen, with Tyler Myers, Jordie Benn, and Oscar Fantenberg joining the squad. These UFA’s are poised to being Canucks blue-liners for next season.

Myers contract is not that bad. You say don't be negative about it but your one of the most negative people I have seen on it.
We should sign anders lee
good news. yay
$6M is a lot for a player, who on his best day is a #4 Dman.
Montreal canadiens just offer sheet Sebastian Aho
Lol, love the hype on the depth D
Myers contract isn't great but it's doable and we needed to shore up our defense so I am fine with it. If he gives us a solid 20 minutes a game with B level defense and C+ or B- level offense then I am ok. If he's Guddy 2.0 he will be gone before the 4th year happens
why Oscar Fantenberg?
I'm actually excited for next season now
So does Myers need to be Expansion draft protected?
I actually like this , no 7 on myers and two more depth guys, no big cap on Oscar he might surprise you if he find his game. I would say with joulevi there is 8 intresting defenders and some depth if someone gets injured. Well Done
also myers deal is not protected for expansion draft benning said it wasnt loaded with signing bonuses in the interview
Still gonna suck…
Why did we sign Fantenberg over Luke Schenn? Fantenberg seems like a useless signing. We don't need more mediocre bottome pairing dmen because we still have Biega.
I think we need one more centre
Been increasing aware of your negative attitude towards the franchise recently. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I think there must be other factors leading to your attitude towards the canucks. Been a sub for awhile now, but I think I'm done for a bit. Good luck to your channel.
Yo just cause hutton and Benn hover around same points doesn't mean there close at all. U should have mentioned that Hutton was a -23 this year! And Benn was a +15, just like Myers +11. Big upgrades there's a reason Jimbo wanted Benn and not Hutton
Look at it this way LR99. Myers isn't actually getting a pay increase. We see it as that because the figure moved from 5,500,000 to 6,000,000. But 6 mil on a cap of 81.5 is only 7.36% of the teams cap space. When Myers signed in 2012-13, it was 5,500,000 in a year with a 60 million dollar cap. That's 9.17% of the salary cap. So if anything, due to inflation etc, he got a pay cut relative to the appropriate variables.
Where big and Strong at The back end Myers and Benn Big Bodies.what to do with Left wing Beartchi? Poor Horvat .Benn stay at home defense good deals.Dont messed around are Defense .Oscar Utica BOUND.Canucks need to treat themselves at free agency been a long time.edler and Tanev still there yikes!!!
another eriksson deal
Jordy Benn, I like, I like a lot… Good bye Hutton?
I have a feeling the Myers was an owner signing not Benning
At least Myers had more points than Eriksson
Fuck Myers man giraffe ass pylon
I'M CHOKED.
Damn Myers laughing all the way to the bank, damn Canucks 6mil, I know it's doable but damn.
it's gonna be fun watching Hughes, Juolevi, Woo, push Myers down the depth chart over the next few years. (forgot Rathbone) . Canucks have some really solid D prospects in the pipeline. Which will make this signing look desperate at best to save JBs job.
Myers > Eriksson
he will go to seattle next year also
definitely, I agree. Let's just wait until the regular season and see how Myers performs. Either way, the Canucks are turning a new leaf and let's hope everything pans out.
I think we needed to make some distinct change on our D list. New list – Myers, Benn, Fantenberg, Hughes (only played a few so on my new list), and possibly Joulevi, Rafferty. And returnees Edler, Stecher, Biega. Seems alright as we didn't go crazy on $$ or term. I'm giving a thumbs up.
Myers… Hes going to be a good addition to blue line. Not bad at 6 for 5 years. Any other team would have offered him the same or more $$. Jordie Benn… Great deal here. Solid stay at home D. Also great P.K. The Canucks blue line is without a doubt better with these two guys. They will bring much needed consistency and size, and hopefully play 70-80 games each as well as eat up minutes that Tanev and Edler have been forced to play. This in turn will hopefully lead to less injuries. They lost Hutton but gained two better and more experienced D for not much more $$ than what Hutton would have been asking, maybe 3-4 million range. So Im very much ok with this. Teves, Sautner, Juolevi, and Brisboise will all be challenging for a spot vs Fantenberg. Juolevi is now skating and should be 100% for training camp. I feel these signings are a step in the right direction, if they can stay healthy then they might see the playoffs. All of a sudden their blue line looks a lot better. Edler, Myers, Benn, Stetcher, Hughes, Tanev, etc etc… Good job Benning. Im actually excited this time, (post free agent signings) hahaha.
Going back to last year Edler and Tanev were our best defencemen. This year are top 2 defencemen Hughes and Myers.Huge upgrade.Benn over Hutton is also Huge.
We will see with Myers. We had to do SOMETHING on the back end, especially on the right hand side. All things considered he was still the best RHD on the UFA market. If no reasonable trades available, and no one in the system other than Woo, what are you going to do? I was expecting it to be worse than this.
Benn, 22points as a stay at home Dman.
Vancouver got a little grit is what they got
Myers has no trade protection at all and the final years of that contract are cheap so its not Ericksson type deal because Myers cant decide where he goes if Vancouver can trade him
IMO 6 by 5 isn't bad
6 by 5 may not be a good deal but it's a fair deal nonetheless.
Schenn > Fantenberg
Schenn @700k > Fantenberg @850k
"Keep forgetting Stecher is a Vancouver Canuck…." Right.
Markstrom is probably thanking Benning more than anyone…
These signings will take some work off his shoulders and money in his pocket come HIS next contract
