How Good Will Cale Makar & Bowen Byram Be As ONE PAIRING? The NHL’s Next Best Prospects (Avalanche)

Cale Makar was already supposed to be the next number one defenceman for the Colorado Avalanche on the right side, but then the Aves went out and drafted Bowen Byram in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft in the same spot Makar was drafted two years prior. Now, the Avalanche have two of the best defensive NHL prospects in their system, who both project towards being elite defenceman and potential Norris-calibre players.

  1. Just think, Ottawa could've had Chabot, Byram….
And Tkachuk to boot to build around, but no they had to chase pipe dreams that costed them dearly.

  2. The Avs have 3 top pairing dmen that can run a pp in their sleep. 2 of them came from the Duchene to Ottawa trade.

  3. and here the Canucks are with our 5th overall pick defenseman Olli Juolevi.. in his draft +3 year… just hoping he can play an NHL game. #BUST

  4. AVs are stacked with DMen, even after trading Barrie. The 2nd and 3rd line pairings will also be incredible with no player over the age of 25.

    Byram – Makar
    Girard – Timmins
    Zadorov – Meloche/Helleson

    It’s ridiculous!

  5. MTL Sends: Price & KK

COL Sends: Bowen Byram, Alex Newhook, Justus Annunen & #1 Pick

I'd love to swap Newhook for Makar but they would never give up two Dmen.
