I was just thinking after watching this, it's funny how euro players used to be seen as more skill based players and not physical enough to play in North America but now it's the opposite. Seems like the majority of power forwards are coming out of euro leagues.

The more videos and highlights of Podkolzin i watch the more i think the canucks got great value here at 10. Big strong power forward that has grit and a great motor and loves to drive to the net hard. Will not let players take advantage of Pettersson and Hughes. "Matthew Tkachuk" type of player canucks fans have been praying for.

This is an example of where Don Cherry could be right about something. Can you imagine Grapes coaching and GMing a team? Can you imagine how hard to play against that team would be? Love this pick. There's still a place for those types of players that Grapes loves. Teams are going to fear us, even if Vas doesn't turn into an elite 1st line player. Nobody will EVER mess with Elias ever again. He can't come here fast enough.
Can't wait to see this guy in a Canucks jersey. As long as he pays gritty, coachable, and works hard, the production will come back. I hope Podkolzin will prove to be one of the steals of this draft. Thanks for posting.
