  1. I'm a Tips fan sad to see 2 players grow up playing in Everett. But we are not winning the division this year Seattle is making that run to the cup also. 10 draft picks for Ziggy and Hofer. A win in my book. Everett GM/Head coach, was Team Canada coach maybe they talked and Ziggy is headed to the Ducks early? Great Channel and live stream thanks Shannon.

  2. The only time this would have a slim chance to happen is if McDavid was traded but even Gretzky didn’t get this much of a Package

  3. Super heart broken about Olen & Ryan leaving… especially as Olen has been gone over a month and was looking forward to seeing him play in person again. I wish them both the very best. Looking forward to seeing them progress and eventually make their NHL debuts! 🥰

  4. Kamloops local…I think it was definitely an overpay, but I do understand the desire to take a shot at winning the Memorial Cup given we’re hosting it.

    But stilll…4 first founders?

  5. I’ll admit I don’t follow the Bantam draft at all, but as an Everett fan I love this trade. We weren’t going to go too far in the WHL playoffs this year and Zellweger was almost certainly going to the NHL next year. So owning Kamloops top picks for the next 4 years gives us a great chance to rebound and go for it in the next few years.

  6. Love the CHL content. Lots of fun trades in the juniors. Unfortunately, my local Ohl team, Niagara, seems to be in fire sale mode with no real plan.

  7. Everett fan here, excited to be on the side that has more draft picks and prospects, in our past history we usually are 'buyer' and trade the draft picks

  8. I’m looking to get a new Blazers jersey, so if you want Shannon, I’ll donate the one I currently have to you when I get my new one.

I have mixed feelings about the trade. I think it’s a massive gamble, but I won’t be one iota upset if we manage to win the memorial cup this year.

I still feel we had a better chance to win it last year (or even the year before if there would have been a tournament that year), but we’re in it for the first time since I was a 14 year old looking up to the likes of Darcy Tucker, Shane Doan, & Jarome Iginla, so why not go for it!!!

  9. That is a ton of draft picks. You have to realize that there are 15 rounds, at least in The OHL, so teams have more picks. Plus many teams load up on extra picks for situations like this. Check out all the trades my Windsor Spitfires have made in the past few days. We picked up 5 players, including Shane Wright, but I believe we gave up about 20 future picks total.

  10. This Everett fan is sad to see Hofer leaving. I expect Zellweger and Hofer will benefit greatly though.

  11. I think Kamloops paid too much, granted they got quality players but it seems they are looking ahead further than this year, they are hosting the Memorial Cup this year so their spot is guaranteed but don’t underestimate Seattle and Portland, they are both making a serious run for the Western Hockey League championship so let’s revisit this in June and see how this worked out

  12. Kelowna still hasn't recovered from getting Draisaitl and Morrisey in 2015. This is intriguing and lots of teams going for it. Winnipeg, Seattle, Kamloops, Portland are all pretty strong. And I have no idea what the O or the Q will bring come mem cup time.

  13. watching this back as a blazers fan is funny because I remember thinking what they gave up was too much for two players that won't be back next year – but seeing what zellweger has done here, how he's only been here for 2 months but was still the team (co) MVP, how his numbers have absolutely skyrocketed…what they gave up seems pretty accurate for his worth and what he's acheived. Definitely not going to slight Hofer either, I think he's been invaluable as well. I'm excited to see them in the NHL/AHL next year
