    I think he'll go for an 8 year deal. How much, I think he'll go for no less than $7 million. But for context, even Lidstrom didn't take massive money, so maybe Seider signs a team friendly deal?

    A lot of money! He could sign three consecutive, five year contracts. And still be only 36 or 37 years old. Things change over time. I hope to be around, when Seider's hockey career ends!

    As a German, I see it this way: If Mo really likes it in Detroit, he will want an 8-year contract. He will also accept a team-friendly contract provided the offer is fair. SY shouldn't try to play SY games with Mo though, because then the situation could totally change if you know what I mean. That's just my personal assessment.

    I think Seider is one of the few players Yzerman would be willing to give 8 years. Obviously, he's a great player but I think it's the intangibles he brings to the team that SY really values. I think McAvoy is a good comp and Mo ends up around that 8X8.5 mark.
