Okay, hear me out. You could load up a pairing of Hughes/DeAngelo and give them preemo offensive minutes.. caddying for Petey/Kuz.

Then go with these as the bottom-2 pairings, and give them more of the heavy lifting defensively. And it actually gives you some d-pairings that kind of make sense…

    – Hughes / DeAngelo
    – Cole / Hronek
    – Soucy / Myers

That said, I wouldn’t even offer 2-way league min. Fuck Tony D.

Trash human being, it would be a disservice to our players to have them put up with him.

$0. Even looking at it from a purely practical standpoint, Vancouver is just not the market for this kind of signing. The noise around it would be endless, and endlessly distracting. Plus this team is trying to improve their culture, DeAngelo would not fit into that effort.

  4. AAfreakinRON

Management and coaching staff say they value character, so I doubt they sign him to anything.

  5. That would be like signing Messier, but slightly less worse

  6. Fuck no. The human being makes the player not worth it.

Not sure he’s really want the team needs. But I wouldn’t be opposed to league min for 1 year.

I haven’t heard a peep about him negatively in the last couple seasons. It’s possible he’s matured a bit.

    But again, not really needed.

No need to take a flyer on him. He is a great offensive D Man but we’ve got money coming off the books and roster spots opening up for young guys or established 2 way defenders next year. Let a team with an established culture get through to this guy.

$1.1M if that. That is the maximum you can bury in the minors. If I’m wrong about that $1.1M, then just make sure you can bury 100% of the salary in the minors.

This market just had a hissy fit about our newest free agent signing’s jersey number. Somehow I don’t think a Tony D signing would fly.

Fuck Tony DeAngelo and fuck NYRFan92360244

Even if you forget his off-ice issues, he really does not fit into this system. Hronek and Hughes already offer that offensive upside Tony has, while both being better defensively

  13. HarveySpecter1970

I wouldn’t sign him. Playing with a jerk makes playing the sport u love less enjoyable.

On the flip side, Carolina has had rumored interest, and they’ve been looking to trade pesce. He can be a good addition, and the pesce trade can help them add to their forward group.

If canucks are smart they try to make a trade for pesce and bolster their defence.

Zero dollars, a piece of shit person that will only make for a toxic locker room.

  15. Thorzehn

Have the Canucks in resent history ever signed a player with this kind of rep?

  16. YourUncle13

He wouldn’t sign in Canada based on his politics

  17. Should the Canucks also take a flyer on Galchenyuk?

There’s no such thing as a stupid post, but this is a stupid post. Over the cap already. The guy’s a douche. Is the op the same guy who keeps posting about should the Canucks trade for…(insert unhappy player who asked for a trade, with 1 year left before becoming an UFA?)

  18. Life_Finger_1440

With how left wing vancouver It would be a nightmare

  19. PathThatIsNoPath

0$ Van have Hughes and Hronek, they do not need an offensive dman and one that has locker room issues.

  20. rippinkitten18

Huuuuuuge no. We don’t need toxic attitude In our locker room. Angelo was drafted 9 years ago and if he hasn’t matured yet he will never mature.
