  1. This 2023 Free Agency & Draft Has Birthed Some AMAZING & HORRIBLE Offseasons… What Are YOUR Thoughts On MY Rankings? What Do YOU Agree & Disagree With? And How Would YOU Grade YOUR Favorite Team’s Offseason So Far? I’d LOVE to Hear YOUR Thoughts! #GravGang #RoadTo75kSUBS

  2. For the oilers, Connor brown, great contract. Janmark, good contract, Bjugstad was a rental, couldn’t afford, kostin was the price to move Yamamoto, klefbom and Smith both on didn’t play last year, Murray play like 2 games last year and got hurt which ended his season early, and Lagesson was traded to Montreal for Brett kulak years ago. Oilers deserve a better rating than that aha.

  3. Boston did the best they can. They had like no cap and still is a contending team with tons of depth instead of 1 guy. Also we got like 25 mil+ in cap next year to spend

  4. Always a Leaf hater. Klingberg will be great on the power play and when they move Muzzin to LTIR, they will be 3 million over the cap. Leafs are better than your Stars.

  5. I like as a Sharks fan how you're one of the few who see that Mike Grier is doing a really good job. Thank you. 🤗

  6. Props to the Blues for keeping Jordan Binnington around. A "win now" playoff goalie stuck on a team approaching rebuild phase has the grind of the regular season rapidly driving him more insane, and it's entertaining

  7. Sabres off-season despite the draft was pretty underwhelming. No big name but definitely addressed a weakness at mid to 3rd line D. Upl shows flashes of brilliance, but when your peppered like a firing squad it effects your goals against. This will be a put up or out yr for him. Hope this sures up the pairing with Powers and propels them to the playoffs

  8. Nahhh man as a fellow Stars enjoyer we played that offseason about as good as possible. I think Nill is being smart to wait on trading for a defenseman rather than just signing and settling for one of the free agents that won't be as good as someone we can pick up down the road. It's a bit risky but I think it's going to work. Their division is pretty weak at this point so they shouldn't have trouble getting a (good) playoff spot even with a subpar defense given that they now should be scoring like 300 goals this season on paper. Nill will probably wait to see how the current group does and if a move needs to be made at the deadline to prep for the playoffs, then it'll be made. The Stars seem to be in as good of a position as possible.

  9. Wild got their biggest off-season work done early resigning Boldy and Mojo in season. They have a little cap left but all that money is going to Gus, Duhaime, and Addison.

  10. I think with this offseason we are seeing a lot of the teams that aren't going crazy in free agency and are resigning the players they have and making trades to build their roster are the ones winning in the offseason in the long run in a lot of people eyes which us what we've seen often when looking back at previous years free agencies

  11. Tampa still have Brent Seabrook under LTIR. They have a bit more cap space that you expact.

  12. I don't think u can be more wrong about the canes……. They needed more offensive power and got an offensive forward and D……

  13. As a leafs fan I love what Brad did we did amazing this offfseason Brad is still gonna make a good trade keep on doing well Brad

  14. Was it that hard, Vancouver? With Benning, absolutely. Had to make moves that would prolong his job, knowing that he'd very likely never get another shot because of how terrible he's been. At least Allvin is showing a little bit of restraint and commitment to sticking to a plan.

  15. i honestly like what toronto did for the most part , and i like klingberg but that deal did NOT !!! need to happen i get its 1 year deal but too much $$$$ if it was st like 3 mill okay fine but your in the hole so much money so should have went after a guy who is decent making 1.5-2 mill instead but no doubt some big changes need to happen , murray hopefully will be dealt or bought out , i wanted 2 of the core 4 gone to really change the team but im guessing nylander is the guy who is out the door grab a guy making 4-5 mill who scores 20+ goals to replace some of that offense and then use muzzins LTIR we should be ok … maybe idk alot needs to still happen

  16. Edm- just got beat by Vegas' 3 lines scoring… i hope some of those scorers they signed are scoring on 3 line?; Anaheim way to go. LAK: yeah but they kept right shooting Arvidsson; SJS … way to go on players picked up, includ draft picks, have to wait to see how Cole Hutson plays this year without those top guys and Vice Versa (my opinion, I had him as the best World's U18 puck moving D;

  17. you ALL were saying we lost as soon as you saw Steve pick up Holl, but then we end up keeping BerGGren and get another 20+ goal scorer And everyone jumps back in the RedWagon like they hadn't turned heel over guys that all can contribute where their specialties lie, Awsome he added a big threat, but i was high on all the adds, none of them are bums, and Phili-Z will probably pick things up too, I'm sooo ready for a good round of toldYou so's faith in Yzerman has been absolute scence i was a kid.

  18. You missed Oskar Sundqvist on the Blues. Not a BIG signing (I'd still give them a C+ overall), but he's a solid bottom-6 player and fan favorite.

  19. Certainly there's been a lot of activity around the NHL from particularly the week of last month's Draft. Yet expanding on my comment from earlier Friday evening Eastern Time in response to that by YouTuber Nathan, the Flames, among Canadian teams, have so far had IMO the most underwhelming offseason. Going from Western to Eastern Canada, but skipping over the Flames until the end, the:
    – Canucks didn't waste time on Canada Day ET, signing a couple of centres (Blueger and Nielsen) goalie (Zach Sawchenko) and a bunch of d-men (among them Ian Cole and Carson Soucy, respective ex-members of the Bolts and Kraken)
    – Oilers made some changes as well, including trading wingers Yamamoto and Kostin to the Wings for so-called "future considerations" and letting Nick Bjugstad, a centre, walk in free agency after having put up just 3 points, all goals, in 12 playoff games
    – Jets made a whole bunch of changes, among them a trade of centre PLD to the Kings including in exchange for Gabe Vilardi
    – Leafs acquired 7 new players including replacements for ones (among them Acciari, O'Reilly and Schenn) who they'd lost to free agency
    – Sens did more than just trade Alex DeBrincat to the Wings for Kubalik, Sebrango and a couple of draft picks although acquiring a mid-goalie in Korpisalo is interesting
    – Habs acquired from the Avs last month a centre (Alex Newhook) whilst sending Gianni Fairbrother and a couple of draft picks the other way but didn't stop there in July:
    — trading Joel Edmundson for a couple of 2024 draft picks
    — acquiring Brady Keeper, Philippe Maillet and Lias Andersson via free agency
    — signing David Reinbacher (their highest 2023 draftee), Mitchell Stephens and Nicolas Beaudin

How about those Flames? June featured the re-signings of Walker Duehr (winger), Oscar Dansk (goalie) and Clark Bishop (centre). The Flames signed or re-signed some league-minimum players but with the acquisition of centre Yegor Sharangovich from the Devils the main non-league-minimum acquisition following the last game the Flames played during the 2022-23 season (a home win over the Sharks). I'd say so far the Flames' offseason is an epic fail. I dunno what GM Conroy has been thinking but missing postseason play after having finished 1st in the Pacific the prior season is IMO a HUGE tumble down the standings. They earned 93 points, 18 less than the season before (coincidentally, for the 2022-23 season, the Leafs' having earned the same # of points as those 2021-22 Flames, but ending up 24 behind a Bruins' squad that'd lose its opening-round series).

The Leafs earned just 4 fewer points last season than the season before, ending 2nd in the Atlantic. That the Leafs, among non-Oilers' Canadian teams, ended up with more wins of playoff games (5) than any of the remaining 5 shows how badly the other Canadian teams did. Even the Oilers only managed 1 more win of a playoff game last season than the Leafs, the Oilers' having struggled to score against the Golden Knights when not on the PP. Yet perhaps no less importantly those Oilers allowed 22 goals over those 5 games, an average of 4.4/game. Scoring 19, an average of 3.8, wasn't too bad, but how can a team win a playoff series when on AVERAGE it allows 4 or more goals/game?

Back to offence, McDavid and Draisaitl, COMBINED, were responsible for 11 goals. Yes Bouchard (2), Nuge, Hyman, Ekholm, Foegele (2) and Bjugstad all also scored, but when it came to points Ekholm (3) was the only then-Oiler to have, if not McDavid, Drai, Bouchard, Nuge or Hyman, averaged ≥½ per game. None of Yamamoto, Kane, Kostin and Janmark scored, with Kane even more absent, on the point-o-meter (with just 1 in 6 games) than Auston Matthews against Bobrovsky (2 in 5 games, both assists) was. It'll be interesting to find out which Canadian teams this season see playoff action, with, in order of how their seasons ended:
    – last season, the Jets', Leafs' and Oilers' having qualified, with the last 2 teams' having won their opening-round series ("ORS")
    – 2 seasons ago, the Leafs', Flames' and Oilers' having qualified, with the Alberta teams' having won their ORS
    – 3 seasons ago, the Oilers', Leafs', Jets' and Habs' having qualified, with the last 2 teams' having won their ORS
    – 4 seasons ago, the Jets', Oilers', Leafs', Flames', Habs' and Canucks' having qualified, with the last 3 having won their ORS

  20. The Kings still have a lot of depth they have a lot of good young players that needed a roster spot, they replaced Vilardi with PLD, and Kupari had 9 goals and 29 points in 130 nhl games so he's easily replaceable, Durzi is being replaced by Brandt Clarke or Jordan Spence who are both just as good and more talented, and Talbot had a save% of .910 or higher the two seasons prior to last year when he was actually playing behind a decent defense in Minnesota

  21. I disagree with you. Carolina adding some grittiness with Bunting and Lemieux will be big. They got Aho, Terravainen, Svechnikov, Necas, and Jarvis. They needed some balls. You wont push them around as easy. They still need more, like a Jeannot. The Devils defense is weaker, the goaltending is the same as last. They have zero grit!!!

  22. Canucks are finally heading in the right direction. However, if they suck again this year i doubt petty would want to stay, then everything goes to shit again. Its do or die but fixing bennings mistakes will take time.
