  1. Hey Hockey Guy!

Wondering if you have some time during the summer to do a couple videos on a few things

I find the nhl weird with how they don’t make the AHL or ECHL better leagues. I don’t understand why nhl teams don’t own their AHL team and put only their prospects there. They seem to have a mix and then let some coach run it. Never really hear news about the leagues or highlights.

Second one on what’s going on with Junior hockey. Seems like the CHL needs to make some changes before the NCAA takes over. The NCAA programs seem to have more money behind them.

The Junior A and B world seems to be changing with a couple new leagues starting with the BCHL making the biggest change. How do these leagues help produce more Canadian players.

Maybe a third could be what is happening to the Canadian player. Seems like less are being produced or maybe it is that fewer but more elite players ar w making it.

  2. If 4 million is the number for Tarasenko. Pitlick, Bonino, Nash,Mackey, and Jones are 4 million without touching Goodrow… and that's assuming Laffy and Miller are more than 5 million which I doubt.

  3. no one is gonna watch a women's league…it would be better than wnba, but still not sufficient interest to sustain it

  4. If vlad is willing to sign for a mill, just sign key to whatever you can and tell laff sign an offer sheet if he wants money on this deal

  5. I wonder if Holland would put out feelers to Zadina. He (and Tyler Wright who's also in Edmonton now) drafted the player, and Holland was shortly after "promoted" out of his role. On a short 1 or 2 year deal in Edmonton, Zadina might be able to find his offensive footing and mojo again. Maybe slide him in on the 3rd line with McLeod or the 4th with Derek Ryan. Either way Zadina should be motivated after betting on himself, and could surround himself with guys who's only goal is Stanley Cup or Bust. Just depends on whether he's willing to grit out cold winters for success.

  6. Signing Cristall is awesome. The Capitals have done an AMAZING job with the draft shoring the club up for the post Ovi/Backy era of hockey

  7. Miss MacEwan in Vancouver, his player type is a dying breed nowadays but you need someone like that for the players on the 4th line

  8. As a Caps fan, I was legitimately surprised when I woke up on Day 2 to find out Cristall was still available. Had my fingers crossed & literally yelled in my cubicle at work when the draft page on NHL's website updated with him getting picked…

  9. LA never gave Macewen a chance. Should have signed him instead of Trevor Lewis.

  10. OK crazy beans What if Drury pulls off a miracle Signs the 2 RFA's on team friendly 1-year deals them Vald also on a 1-year deal with promise of big pay day next year for the 2 kids it's basically a show me with Vlad it's more of a belief/faith deal. He may just enjoy playing with Panarin/ Igor

  11. Im guessing Zach is meant to be somewhat of a replacement for Watson. Seems like a good guy off the ice as well. Look forward to seeing him in an Ottawa jersey!

  12. MTL would be perfect for Zedina. Marty can make some magic with make him star. Filip has so much more to give and potential.

  13. Tarasenko should sign a multi year deal worth whatever the Rangers can offer this year with the millions more he is worth tacked onto the next year or two after that.

  14. On, how’s this for a idea for the WNHL? Scenario No.1 – as you suggested, a summer league. Women’s hockey rn would get ALL the media attention.
Scenario no.2 – women’s games take place before men’s games in NHL or AHL arenas, same day, and see all 6 hours of hockey for the same price (obviously subsidized) for the first season. Going against men’s hockey head-to-head the WNHL will stumble. Great vid!

  15. Zadina is the tip of the iceberg why you shouldnt care draftpics at all if you dont have number one pick of whole draft. Other than that its complete guess and most of being complete garbage

  16. liked MAcewen in Philly…but he needed a few more goals to stay viable. racking up concussions instead of goals was not a good strategy moving forward. Like his heart, but….

  17. To expand on what I commented on the previous video regarding Vlad Terasenko. Given the cap situation and VT’s determination and motivation to play for the Rangers, the two parties should verbally agree on a market value for a 2-year deal. Sign an official 1 year deal at half that value, and a verbal agreement on next season’s contract for 1.5x the agreed market value (maybe 1.75x, the extra .25 as an interest payment on the money theoretically owed to him from the initial 1 year contract)

Now maybe there’s strict rules from the NHL regarding verbal agreements for future contracts, I don’t know, so that might kill this sort of deal off the bat. But this deal would make sense given the very shallow cap space across the NHL.

The other thing is, this sort of deal may mess with market value of other players if you can get players for below market value and then suddenly over pay them well above market value the following season.

  18. I've said it before: If the women's league wants to be taken seriously by anyone, they have to keep the word "Women" out of their name. Otherwise, they will come across strictly as the female version of a male sport, rather than as a professional sports league that just happens to only have women players.
