Not happy about this one, he’s a dirty player who lost all respect from me when he bit Brady Tkachuk. Not sure what Don was thinking here.

  2. samurai5764

Turn the other cheek mentality has now gone out the window

  3. oooriole09

That’ll take a bite out of our forward needs.

  4. we’ll this isn’t the signing i wanted announced today

  5. I’m actually ok with grabbing him and Bunting. Gives us an edge that we haven’t really had the last few years and should help the team adapt a mindset of pushing back and not taking any shit when teams try to body us.

All we need now is a scorer. Tarasenko would help, Karlsson would be gravy, but I’d really like a Nylander. Do that, and I think we’re the most complete team in the league going into the season.

Hoping he spends his time mostly in the AHL

You guys are insatiable lol. Beg for our team to get tougher to play against, we finally take some steps towards that and you’re all crying.

When you get an opportunity to sign TDA’s shit hockey player covid denying podcast partner you just gotta. I look forward to them relaunching it so I can hear insightful discussions around bathroom bills and “why aren’t they allowed to say that word :(“

  9. connor8383

Why are y’all crying? We need to play with an edge. This signing helps that along significantly. This AAV is nothing, we can still make more moves.

Great signing. What’s with all the whining? Does anybody remembered getting bullied by the panthers?

  11. Turbulent_System_446

Bringing together all the former ranger shit stirrers

  12. H_Man247

Don’t hate it as a depth pickup. Guy is annoying as hell to play against

  13. dragons_fire77

Canes 🤝 Leafs, not getting bullied in playoffs this year

  14. Caniac1017

I understand people’s dislike for him because of his political beliefs and for some of his antics in the past but this is hockey and we have been getting bullied around every post season. We watched our lord and savior get blasted in Game 4 and nobody did anything. That didn’t take balls from Sam Bennett to go and take out Slavin. It was quite easy for him to do that because he knew there would be no repercussions for it. This is an extremely low risk move by Don. If he becomes a problem they can easily cut their losses and cut him. Simple as that. Every elite team has elite level scorers and POS. We have the POS, now just need the scorer.

This is one of those cheap depth signings that is in and out of the lineup all year. Gives us a bit more edge. I can live with it as long as we’re not done yet.

Lemieux is a good 13th forward to have. Instead of just rotating the same flavor Lemieux brings energy and physicality. He has utility if the situation calls for it.

Brendan and TDA are bffs. This could get wild.

  18. CandidateClean3354

Just the type of player that is needed to add some toughness .he is also friends with TDA .so reading between the lines EK to Pittsburgh

Florida had Gudas + Tkachuk, the Rangers had Trouba, and Boston had half a team of scrappy fucks. Tampa is right there with them too.

It was fun having a likable group that played clean hockey, but we play a physical style of hockey. We have to get guys that play that way if we want to climb over the hump. This gives us a heavy body on the fourth line and a guy with that extra bite that can push us over the edge physically (had to). Besides, it’s basically a league minimum deal. On top of that, if any coach can reel in a player’s behavior, it’s Rod (see TDA).

Not a fan of the guy, but what he brings to the table could be big for us. Very low-risk deal financially (that we can easily rid ourselves of), but the reward could be make or break us come playoff time.

  20. Bennett_19

Will he be a scratch player, or will he actually play a good amount?

  21. Cark_Klent

Check in on your dual Wings/Canes fan friends, we are not okay.

  22. LarryTheLobster710

Dude had 6 fights in 45 games last season

  23. ashitbrickhouse

Flyers fan here, I actually really liked his play at the end of last season. We just don’t have roster spots since we’re playing young guys and not in a position to need him but you guys won’t be disappointed. He’s fast and killed penalties well and was good at not taking penalties

  24. Lemieux is trash, he’ll be lucky to be a 4th liner.

  25. angrygoldfish01

I hope he bites someone again. That was entertaining as hell.

  26. cblguy82

Decent signing for cost and physicality needs. Risk here similar to the first TDA signing is ensuring that he gels with the team and his volatility is contained to appropriate needs to avoid putting us in penalty troubles.

This is a time will tell acquisition.

  27. FinicalPenny453

Please for craps sake get a GOAL SCORER. My nerves can’t take it anymore!

  28. No_Designer_5374

Strange signing for a team built on chemistry.

  29. millard_spillmore

Def get the sense our depth options are limited given the uncertainty of the AHL team this year. Likely limited to dudes who already have been around that don’t mind taking a check to be a practice squad guy and sit in the press box instead of trying to play in the AHL on a regular basis. Hence why you see a signing like this.
