On today’s episode of Locked on Wild, we evaluate the 2022-23 season for Ryan Hartman. We look at Hartman’s stats compared to last year and how this season compares with his career averages. We look at the rise in penalty minutes playing into Hartman’s frustration with not being able to score at the same pace he did last year. We hand out letter grades for his performance in key areas:

Hartman is a stud and ill stick to that, people talk a lot that dude puts out
Letter grade B-.
Hartman is a gritty player that just seemed a bit off at times last year. There is no question he has heart and cares, maybe too much at times. Willing to muck it up and being a smaller player, needs to play with an edge in order to flat out survive. His goal when injured in G1 was gutty. The dumb penalties were crazy. One of my grips about his game is his missing the net constantly, he could have had 5-8 more goals by plucking a corner, not the netting behind the net. I would keep him period, as he is like Freddy, a player you would want to make a run with and the type of player a roster needs to fill with. Maybe a 3rd line center / wing in the future but a good player.
Regular season = B (he's a S2M player WTF are we expecting from him?)
Playoffs = C-
