Reminder that Hög is no longer waivers exempt this season and will have to clear waivers to be sent down to Abby ~~if he doesn’t make the team out of camp~~ if he plays 2 more games in the NHL

This is good value for Hogs and the team. The AHL path was a great confidence builder and developmental step.
He is going to be in tough to get on a line if we are healthy. Kuz, Mic, Boes, Garland, Beau fighting for four spots in the top two lines,
Josh, Pearson, Pods plus, say Garland on the bottom two lines. Tough to see who he bumps unless an injury. Good problem to have, Hogs has to earn it.
It would be fun to see Pods and Hogs on a young offensive/crashing third line. Maybe with Aman. Have Bluegar center a heavy defensive line with Pearson and Joshua.
Tochet has some work ahead of him to bring it all together.
Not trying to be negative, but shouldn’t we have paid something like league minimum for a guy who mostly played in the minors last year/hasn’t quite cut it at the NHL level yet? Statistically he’s steadily regressed the last two years
This is solid, I figured he’d take a 1-year prove-it deal around league 850k or so, but I think this will work better.
The higher salary and term means that if he gets put on waivers, there’s a lower likelihood he gets claimed.
Plus, if he makes it down there, the cap hit is fully buriable.
