Wild day!
Love the trade
DANG IT! Just add another one to the list of the Preds' better players who were given away for absolutely nothing, in this case literally less than nothing! (Just like Poile would do it.)
But as much as I hate that, I hate what it says about where the Preds are going even more!
At this point the Preds really need to rebuild from the ground up, and I mean the GROUND up, beginning with this years draft. Because, for the most part, our prospect pool, frankly, stinks! That means you need futures, and that means trading overrated players like Josi and Saros that could bring you back a haul to build with!
But that's not what's happening. Instead, we're staking our future on young players that will keep us a regular-season ONLY team that always makes the playoffs and NEVER does anything in them.
And given the way it's going so far, I'm honestly terrified of what the "Master Plan" has in mind to acquire! If it's the likes of DeBrincat or Keller, seriously, I'm out!
I don't understand why people actually think this is good. Johansen for eight-million a year is unacceptable but nobody for four-million a year is????? But it's actually worse than that. I hope we don't sign Galchenyuk but why was he thrown in if we're not going to? So let's say we sign Galchenyuk for one-million a year. That means, effectively, we're getting Galchenyuk for five-million a year. That makes Johansen's contract look like a bargain! And we lose Johansen, who could have been a good mentor, just to free up like three-million cap-space? For what?
In my opinion we're not getting closer to being competitive, we're getting further and further away. Please just wake me up when it's over!
