I was 13, going into 8th grade. My school was maybe 60/40 Rags/Isles fans. Hockey was huge. It was a very rough fall for Isles fans. No one knows how to be a dick quite as well as a 13 year old.

As a new hockey fan, I only had to suffer through the most recent loss to the Canes. But I did see game 4 at UBS which was pretty rough, especially after riding on the high of that game 3 goal-a-thon.

At least 2 of my friends cried after the Tampa loss and I chain smoked cigs after being clean for 5 years. I can’t relate to 94 because of my age but the game 7 loss shattered me more than I knew a sports team was capable of

I thought ‘94 was going to be the lowest point of my hockey fandom. It was definitely the worst playoff loss I ever witnessed. Dad says ‘78 was terrible because the Leafs were just not as good. He says that 5th Cup is in ‘78 or ‘79, not ‘84.
Those Tampa teams were just a bit better. And circumvented the cap.
But that Ranger ‘94 loss…when those asshole rag fans took over the building? Ending that glorious chant? Fuck those rain jah fans. Fuck that whole fucking playoffs. At the end of the game, the rags were celebrating right in front of me in 205. I was in row k, seat 14. I was wearing a Levi denim jacket and had a whole thick pack of trident gum. I pulled it out of my pocket and threw it into the crowd of celebrating rag c*nts. I hit leetch on the shoulder.
And that fucking 93 loss to the Habs? Fuck those fucking refs
