Come On Chris Drury. Sign Him (Tarasenko) for One Year At A Cap Friendly Price, until Trouba & Goodrow Are Gone, and then Sign Him For A Few Years. You can do it Chris.
This reeks of Patrick Kane 2.0. I like Vlad but doing a bunch of cap gymnastics at the expense of probably Laf or Miller is a horrible idea.
16 goals 39 assists and 55 points for Wheeler, 18 goals 32 assists and 50 points for Vlad. That need for a top 9 RW has been filled and for significantly less money. To bring back Vlad meant no other depth signings. I’m glad they went the route of Wheeler and depth over going all in on a big money contract with Vlad, even if it were only a 1 year deal. Rangers fans are funny, they want ‘more ice time for the kids’ than pine for big name veteran players in the same breath.
I wonder how the Rangers brass prioritizes Kakko, Lafreniere, Chytil, etc.
I hope that we re-sign Kane and Tarasenko. You never know what they’ll get in a full season together with us, so I would give them at least 1 more chance and free up cap space and if it doesn’t work out next year, then we’ll let them go. I’m pro-Kane and pro-Tarasenko and believe that we should’ve gotten both of them together 2 years ago (2021), instead of waiting until this year and believe that it would’ve enhanced our chances at making it to the 2022 Stanley Cup Final and this year’s Stanley Cup Final, as well, even though my top guy is still Shesterkin.
He is a steal to any team but his age
Shesty’s next contract scares me. If he stays otherworldly.. with the cap going up possibly north of 90 mil by the time his contract is up. I see it coming in at 10mil+.
When I listen to this I immediately need an aspirin.
