  1. The Canes(Rod Brind'Amour) will do a better job with KK. He has a way with younger players. I just hope the Canes can do something the Habs couldn't…..Find a helmet to fit KK. LOL

  2. We will how the Habs look this season in a harder division. The only reason they even made the playoffs was because they were in the weakest division last year.

  3. “Boy is their off-season weird.” Exactly. Letting Bernier slip through their fingers for nothing is a mystery.

  4. I do not think the Habs won, and Bergevin still needs to answer for poor development but they made the best of a bad situation

  5. Who won the trade? Depends on your timeframe if you ask me.
For this upcoming season? The Canadiens improved at center and are paying less for it so they won for this season. Arizona lost a player for picks so they go backwards and Carolina was already pretty deep at center so if Kotkaniemi doesn't break out this year it's not the end of the world.
For the next season or two after that? Carolina wins if Kotkaniemi develops to his potential which is supposed to be higher than Dvorak's and if they resign him to a reasonable contract.
Seasons after that? Arizona because that is is when all those draft picks should be coming into the league and truly hitting their stride. I mean holy shit that is so many early round picks in what is supposed to be the most stacked draft class in some time.

So my opinion is everybody has the potential to be a winner in this trade but like always, we won't really know until years down the line.

  6. If Kotkaniemi signs for less than his arbitration rights next year (6.1), the canes and parties involved will be punished by the CBA.

  7. Montreal made out like a bandit….they got a nice player with proven ability under his belt

  8. Carolina get's no # 82 , and the 4th line center spot , and a lot of unhappy jealous player's and the Canadians , upgrade their salary cap 1.6 million $$$ , and Arizona continues to prosper on adding fantastic 1st round picks , lol ! I hope Arizona remembers , what Montreal did for them this season ????

  9. So, hind sight being what it is how many people think the Habs should’ve picked Brady Tkachuk now?

  10. For many hockey fans Steve Glynn is our House Hockey Analyst. Recently he took a break and we had been concerned for his health. I was working at McGill University Health Center when I started to follow his words and reactions. Steve is like the additional son of the Hockey family. This is the opinion of Hockey as such. Everything is done with a kindness and a generosity unique in the world. Thanks God Steve is back!

  11. I think Arizona could have/ should have gotten more for Davorak. I think a 3rd as well, Montreal needed a center.

  12. I agree initially it looked crazy but it's really up to KK is he the player Montreal thought they were getting at 3rd overall or is he closer to the player he has been. Dvorak is a great replacement by Bergiven super under rated in my mind? Carolina shows Bergiven how to successfully use the offer sheet. Montreal had little choice but to let him go. But will it payoff, again up to KK.

  13. Coyotes setting themselves up to signing Auston to the biggest contract in NHL history when he lands on UFA

  14. I always sort of hoped the Leafs could get Dvorak. He played with Marner in London and it was absurd how well they played together.

  15. my lines for my habs, maybe respond and make a video on this, that would be great 🙂

Caufield – Suzuki – Drouin | Suzuki has great chemistry with both Jo and Goal caufield, and 2 playmakers and goal scorer. Also suzuki's defense is really good too, great 2-way player, Jo back checks a bit as well but I would use this as ur scoring line 1.

Anderson – Dvorak – Hoffman | anderson and dvo played together b4, and dvo is good playmaker, hoffman scorer, anderson can freaking fly, and u want him to get points as well, pair him up with some good players, ur chilling. Dvo really good defensively as well, great 2-way player again, WAY BETTER THAN KK. All these players will get decent points.

b4 u ask y toffoli not 2nd line, i think we should spread out the scoring, caufield, toffoli, hoffman can all score easily, so i split them all up. Also maybe we can switch gally and Anderson but idk.

Toffoli – Peohling – Gally | u have 2 really good goal scorers and that gives peohling points, and if ur worried about defense, ik the centre is supposed to be the 2-way person, but toffoli and gally R really good a defense, both great goal scorers and defensive players. A lot of goals from these guys.

Armia – Evans – Perrault | U could put lekhonen but then no1 will be able to produce points, ik this is a almost full defense line, but I think Evans and Armia r enough, both really good defensively, maybe getting a few points and good defense is good for them, offence will be taken care of by top 3 lines. Perrault do a bit of scoring, so ya, if u put Lekhy, ur not getting any points, and thats 3 really defensive players, so i say perrault is better there.

Byron – Pacquette – Lekhonen | these r the spares to replace any1 with injuries. Pretty good spares tbh.

    —————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————-

Petry-Edmonson | i think this is obvious, ur most offensive D with the most defensive D, great pairing.
Savard-Chairot | both can provide a small bit of offence and both good Dmen
Wideman-Romanov | I mean what else right ?? screw kulak

Kulak, i just dont like him and i think wideman is better.

    —————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————-

Caufield – Suzuki/ Gally – Hoffman | I think this is a great power play that will score a lot. Gally in front of the net to screen and deflect, that
Petry – Suzuki | will up his points, Hoffman and Caufield r pure snipers and goal scorers, they will control the left and
face-offright circle where he was sniping last year, top left corner, BANG. 3 great shots, and gally there to screen and maybe even tip. Petry is really good at passing, so is suzuki, so 2 playmakers, 2 snipers, and 1 screener, great format. Petry will play at the line, and maybe even invade suzuki territory. Puck goes behind the net, gally gets it, and caufield and hoffman will be at the corners ready to support him and available for the pass to throw it back at the top.

Toffoli – Dvorak – Armia(or Anderson) | this is a different set up and strategy, 2 different strategies, big brain :), anyway, toffoli takes
Romanov – Drouin | caufield's spot, apparently dvo is really good in the slot, so put him in front of the net to deflect or 1
———————————————————–| time it from a pass from behind the line from armia or drouin up top, toffoli just 1-timing on the left side, romanov can just fire it or set up people, same with drouin as they r both at the blue line.

    —————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————-
Just like HTH said, almost every1 can play PK so im not going to make specific lines for this. Also goalies r obvious so thats it. GG

Hope u enjoyed this comment, its a lot and took me 30m to write

  16. Arizona won as long as they still have a franchise next year. It has always been instable there so time will tell.

  17. MTL got an offer sheet and Bergevin instantly started shopping for a replacement lmao. Sigma grindset

  18. Montreal received first and third round picks for a relatively unproven, underperforming player, AND FANS WANTED US TO GIVE UP HYMAN FOR A SIXTH?

  19. Anyone notice how Leafs fans found the KK offer sheet so funny and interesting, but when the Habs got Dvorak they all shut up? Yeah we know what’s up…

  20. unfortunately alot of angry people out there making the world not a better place ~ heres cheers for the happy folks enjoying all the joys of life including hockey

  21. Too Funny!

All you need to do is move this into the "What if — Trade Trees!" Start with Arizona landing Austin Matthews from the Leafs. That will cause a storm. Of course there is that Subban snowball that is starting to roll downhill. Your video on the Webber for Subban Trade Tree was great also. I hit a like for that one. Thanks you to both Steve and Sportsnet.

  22. KK is going on left wing so I wouldn't be surprised if its KK-Aho-TT first line. next offer sheet will be Carolina will get Suzuki. just for the F of it.

  23. I'm surprised the Habs didn't offer a big contract to Mark Staal. Ducharme favored him over KK in the playoff finals last year, so unsure why they didn't sign him instead of offering KK a bridge deal.

For this year, Dvorak > KK, in ability, experience, and contract.

  24. One has to wonder if KK knows that he's going to play wing in Carolina instead of center. Wouldn't this hurt his own long term value?

  25. Depending on who Phoenix is able to take with that first-round pick, it could be them. That said, with eight picks in the first two rounds, the Coyotes have to be good down the road … right?
