  1. It's been a long time since going into a new season with so many Ifs I feel. If the goalies can keep last year's pace and even improve just a little bit, If we can be spared from injuries just within the average of an NHL season, if the rookies can take a step up in their sophomore year like Guhle and Slav, if the new addition decide to go full beast mode due to the MSL effect, if we can fill one or two spot via trades or some other mean before next season start….and finally if other teams in our division struggle and get plagued with injuries (since it should be their turn god damn it)…THEN we should have a go at a playoff race!

  2. I am the exact opposite regarding Pezzetta he's so useless in the line-up it hurts to play him lol. Xhekaj, Anderson, and Savard can provide the physicality he brings and he is completely useless after that he can't skate he can't pass he can't score. I'd rather have Armia who sure while quiet at times CAN be productive and if you play him with say RHP on that 4th line could have a decent enough season, maybe someone takes the chance on him at the deadline. Plus it feels like Hoffman might get traded off with like a 3rd at 50% retained but I'm not sure if we go that route so he's out either way.

    Caufield-Suzuki-Dach
    Newhook-Monahan-Anderson
    Slafkovsky-Dvorak-Gallagher
    RHP-Evans-Armia

I think on defense they play Guhle and Savard with each other again, they played very good and complimented each other on the backend last year before injuries took out Guhle. Aside from that I like the blueline very much.

    Guhle-Savard
    Matheson-Harris
    Xhekaj-Barron

Overall if we can stay healthy I see the team being pretty decent, pushing hard for a wild card spot either getting in barely or barely falling out that's how I see the Canadiens this year, lots of great progress towards the playoffs but again either barely in or barely out. 2024 and 2025 will be the best years for this team in a long time though I'm calling that right now.

  3. Less injuries (let's hope) automatically means a better next season than last season.

  4. If the team, especially Monohan stay's healthy will have an unbelievable year, and will be in the push for the last wild card spot at the trade deadline, with the tough decision to trade him or go for it.

  5. I agree I just don't see this as a lineup making the playoffs next year unfortunately it's going to be another year of development. I disagree with the Hoffman comments. I don't understand why I have fans are always so down on this, the coach use him in important situations all season long when he was healthy. He still scores big goals, he was fourth in scoring on a bad team last year, I thought he carried the puck well through the neutral zone, and he went in the corners. To put it in perspective, he had more production then Anderson unless games. Like it or not he's our top secondary scorer, he will be in the somewhere

  6. Remember. This is supposed to be a five year rebuild We are in season two of said rebuild. I'm stoked to see how the new guys are going to fit in to the NHL. I expect that they won't make the playoffs and get another good pick again next year.

  7. Still havn't learned anything from gifting Slafkovsky a roster spot last year when RHP was clearly ahead in dev. This time around everybody mocking him up on the 2nd line when he can't even be bothered to show up at dev camp, don't be surprised when he starts acting entitled like kk

  8. I still think they finish between bottom 10 and bottom 5.

What do you think about Newhook tho? What are we expecting from him in terms of production? What is his skill ceiling? What would he have to do to be worth what we traded away for him? And finally what do you think his contract is gonna be worth??

  9. This is a crappy analysis. The Habs are loaded. We were competitive last year with 10 guys out of the lineup. We will definitely make the playoffs this year and may win it all.

  10. Rafael Harvey Bedard – Rafael Harvey Pinard
    Honda Civic – Jonathan Kovacevic.
    Josh Wawa – Joshua Roy

    a few, of many..

  11. Last year, a lot of our Ls were moral victories, and I expect that to translate into more Ws next year.
We should do better than bottom 5

  12. Barring injury, if the kids continue their already upward trajectory, I expect the habs to be much more competitive this season. I don't think they can force their way into the playoffs( unless we get a couple unreal performances this year). I'm still excited to see the core in action. It feels like for the first time in along time that the old guard is finally gone and the slate has been wiped clean.

  13. Great video once again my brother. i totally agree however Dach could be on line 2 down the middle . Hard to say. i see habs moving up just a little bit . somewheres between 23 and 25 in the league. Small steps.

  14. i agree with every thing on the lines except for maybe hoffman instead of pez also it puting reinbacher and rd 2 wouldnt be so bad later on

  15. Your projected forward lineup is absolutely what I would love to see to start the season. Pezzetta and RHP together had great chemistry (especially when Belzile was on that line, but oh well). It would be great to see Monahan play, the team looked better with him on the ice.
