Where there’s smoke there is generally fire. You have to read between the lines on this statement and see where both statements could be true.
The agent’s statement didn’t say that Gibson didn’t request a trade. Friedman on 32 Thoughts said that while Gibson did request a trade Gibson made it very well known that he’d return to play in Anaheim if it didn’t happen.
Frank was being hyperbolic, as he often is.

Of course the agency is going to retract the statement or refute the claims. Gibson hasn’t been traded *yet* and is obliged to play for the Ducks until otherwise.

I hate when the sensational stuff gets posted and the retraction never seems to make it as far.
Good luck to that guy. I’m sure the devils will make other smart moves.
We were never going to trade for him anyway.
Was this ever in question?
Good, the last thing we’d need to trade for another Jonathan Bernier type goalie.
I don’t want Gibson. But Kurt Overhardt has argued against things Frank has said in the past and been proven dead wrong. Not saying Frank is flawless, but this statement from KO sports is meaningless. [link to last time](https://twitter.com/frank_seravalli/status/1337496037645283328?s=46&t=ZcodqZcpv_R-o9s1ELSCxg)
