Evgeny Svechnikov is poised to return to the ice after missing the whole of the 2018-19 season due to injury. He had a tremendous rookie season in 2016-17 – helping lead the Grand Rapids Griffins to a Calder Cup Championship. Svechnikov is once more healthy and fighting his way through the growing pool of Detroit Red Wings prospects for his shot at the NHL.

I saw him play in the first preseason game at the LCA this year, he was relentless on defense. Had a shift in the first period where he pickpocketed at least two players within about 1 minute, each pick pocket relayed into an offense chance. Loved what I saw!
I think I’ll be super disappointed is svechnikov makes the roster before veleno.
