I don’t think Sammy will sign for 2.75…. so this falls apart pretty quick. We also don’t have domi confirmation yet. If we get within a million though, we should be fine by running a smaller roster until an injury happens. Trust in pridham.

Pretty risky to announce these before a Murray trade. Dude has a 10 team NTC, and that’s about how many people can afford it. Throw in he makes well above his cap hit, and even less teams will be willing(think Arizona, they want guys making below their cap hit, teams with room would rather take a 5 million player making 5, then a 5 million player getting 8 million) . Announcing the signings before the trade just allows people to play hardball because they know you NEED to, rather than want to.
And no you can’t just LTIR retire someone cause you want to.

Knies and Robertson do a lot here to make the firepower feel threatening across all three lines. Especially after losing RoR and Bunting. FWIW, Bertuzzi feels a lot more dangerous than Bunting.
Depending on what we’re left with after we deal with Murray, there could be a little room to sign another aging vet for 3C/4C role.

Expecting big moves from Tre to address the D. That is not going to cut it in the playoffs but I guess he has 8+ months to work on it. Zadorov on the third pair and a Schenn-like partner for Rielly again would be nice.

And Roberston? is a wildcard… i don’t think hes ready for a permanent slot on the team…

Edit… Kampf is too good and making too much for the forth line… but he could be the solution for the Roberstson problem… he or Domi could play the left side… and we fill the 4c with someone on a league min salary.

I’m fine with starting Robertson on the third, but he’ll be on LTIR within ten games. Better have a back-up option.
