  1. Philly: 1st Pick (Vancouver)
    1st Pick (LA Kings)

    Vancouver: Carter Hart

    LA Kings: Thatcher Demko

  2. That 2nd round pick or the 1st 3rd rd pick you can get one of the 2 best goalies in this draft

  3. However if he had a defense in front of him he would be in the running for the Vesna

  4. As a flyers fan I’m torn. We have been waiting for a franchise goalie who can steal games for 30 years and now you have a young goalie who has shown that. On the other hand, the team needs to be rebuilt from ground up and you have to move the players with the most value to do that so Hart and TK (and Laughton) are those players. It will suck to watch Carter Hart win vezinas and maybe a cup elsewhere but it will be good for him and maybe the franchise to get all the assets in return. They got a lot for provy and hart has higher value

  5. I don’t think this will take five seasons of rebuilding if you actually look down the depth chart of Flyers goaltending. Fedetov may never come over but Ersson has a lot of potential to become the starter, and with getting Petersen I think they tandem Ersson and Sandstrom next season to train up the young goaltender without overloading him and maybe up Sandstrom’s potential trade value. The biggest thing is dumping the bad fletcher contracts for as much draft capital and cap space as possible, and with the Provorov deal, Danny B has shown he is able to absolutely fleece other teams

  6. In Danny Briere's presser following the Provorov trade one of the reporters asked about whether the Flyers will be actively shopping Carter Hart around the NHL, Danny's response was simple, he simply said "we're open for business". That statement says a lot about where they are in their rebuilding era, which has officially began with the Provorov deal.
It's crazy to many Flyers fans that it has taken the Flyers a couple of decades to acquire a top shelf goalie and are prepared to let him go through a trade. Most of the fans I know are dead set against this, and they feel that Briere will be heavily criticised when and if he makes that transaction, but Briere and Jones inherited a team that has been horribly managed for the past 25 years. The farm team has very few NHL-ready prospects, actually most of the Phantoms look like career AHLers, so their only option is to trade the actual talented players on the current squad. Most of the teams north of the border have been longing to make a trade to bring Carter Hart (a Canadian favourite), back to his home country. If the Flyers do get around to actually trading their only superstar player, I'm sure they will be seeking a 1st round pick, multiple 2nd and 3rd round picks, along with NHL ready prospects.
If you think Briere did well with the Provorov deal, be ready to be gobsmacked with a possible Hart deal.
As for Provorov, there is some inside information about Provorov that may have mattered in the idea of moving him. He was a real loner within the Flyers team, and there were people within the Flyers organisation that he did not get along with. I'm not going to say that he was toxic in the room, but I'm sure Tort's is still trying to fix the "culture" within the room. That move is a big plus for all 3 teams.

  7. Your point is well taken, because Brier will be in listening mode. So if some team is out there wanting to trade for a goalie, Brier has to listen. But I don’t think the coaches and management has no five year plan. 48 years without a Stanley Cup is long enough and the fans won’t tolerate a five year plan. I don’t think some of the older players have no time for that. It’s quite a few teams that turn it around in 3yrs, take New Jersey Devils. The people that the organization hired in the front office is most to blame.

  8. If they were to trade Carter Heart….. they better have turned this thing around in less than 3 years. 😳😳😳

  9. As a flyer fan for 52 yrs, it would be a fatal mistake to trade Hart.. if you know the history of this team, its Achilles heel through so many years and Cup worthy good teams was goaltending… the last time they lost in the finals to Chicago in 2010 was because of goalie, Leaky Leighton

  10. Goalies reach their prime later than skaters. A 29 year old Hart would be in his prime. Then again, he could also get a major return for the Flyers. I’m on the fence here.
