NHL free agency is underway for the 2023 offseason and the Dallas Stars are quite active. They added some new forwards in Matt Duchene, Craig Smith and Sam Steel. Today, Dane breaks down each player’s new contract and analyzes how their skillset would mix in the Dallas Stars roster. With every new addition comes the departure of beloved fan favorites. Max Domi, Luke Glendening and Joel Kiviranta will not be coming back to join the team. Even with a busy first day, it doesn’t seem like the Stars are done making moves just yet.     Kiviranta isn't signed yet. Why are we saying goodbye to him? Klingberg in Toronto is going to be an interesting experiment. I think Craig Smith will be valuable in the leadership role left by Glenny, and will contribute about the same as he has elsewhere. He is not good on the dot, however, but we are strong enough in that department. Happy to see Hanley get another 2 years. He is money.
