Following a rather quiet opening to free agency, Maple Leafs general manager Brad Treliving spoke about the type of player his team is getting in Ryan Reaves and touched on the several players that chose to leave as free agents. Treliving also briefly talked about the ongoing conversations with Auston Matthews and William Nylander.

Prediction: the Leafs will have a major drop off this coming season
Doesn’t matter Leaf fans, Nylander will ask his way out of Toronto, with his contract demands. He now has a limited no trade clause of about 10 teams as of July 1st.

Massive signing, he makes things difficult for the opposition yelling from the bench and really gives them hell for the 8:50 he puts in per night. Leafs got their cheerleader

Loses Tkachuk and Johnny. Up next Nylander, Mathews and Marner. 50 years cheering for this team and this is the worst I have felt. We all know the one that needs to be fired SHANAHAN!
Brad Treliving has been an utter failure. Dont be surprised if Auston or Willie (or both) walk next year as well. ITs clear there is trouble behind the scenes as 5-6 leafs REFUSED to re-sign in Toronto. The problems run deep at MLSE..very, very deep.
Glad we have Yzerman in Detroit and not this guy.
Dubas is still killing this team even after his firing!! The contracts of the top 4 guys limits what can be done elsewhere!

the only people who don’t like this signing are the ones who’ve never been on a hockey team. If you’ve ever played yk how hugeee of a difference an enforcer makes especially when he’s a literal hype man too. The leafs are arguably the softest nd most dry team in the league especially last year, adding someone who hypes everyone up and will protect you no matter what is something they’ve missed forever.
3 years for a guy soon to be 37 years old…. smh
