  1. I’m always curious about a team choosing buyout versus salary retention; because they have the cap penalty anyway.

  2. Backstrom is the only player to play at least half of a season after hip resurfacing surgery..and it didn't go well. I'm hoping for the best..love Backy…good luck this season Nicky.

  3. Not only is Freddie getting 40ms he goes from paying Canadian taxes to no state income tax for over half the season since he gets to play 41 at home and how many ever vs the Mavs and Spurs

  4. I remember how huge it was when the Rangers offered Joe Sakic $21M for 3 years, and the Avs matched it to keep him, leading to a so-called contract frenzy for free agents until the lockout and lost season. That hard cap has really clamped down inflation of player salary. $7M a year should be much more common than it is, because we're talking 26 years since that happened.

  5. Disappointed that malgin wasn't resigned. He played great for the Avs and, at one point, was threatening 2C.

  6. Kinda sad to see Nutivaara retire. He was a decent bottom 6 def for a couple of years. Hope he recovers well.

  7. Klim Kostin is underrated. Wouldn't mind him in Chicago, but a team that comes to mind as a perfect fit for him is Vancouver.

  8. I am not so sure Pettersson will sign a long deal. He wants to compete. I think he will want the Nucls org to prove it's a place worth staying. I don't expect 8 years.

  9. Just finished your draft recap video. I was thinking it would be a good video to compare how accurate different draft rankings have been over the years
