  1. Overpaid , 0 offence , 0 physicality , penalry kill guy is all he is , 4th line center for 2.4 mil , omg

  2. Nice re-sign at a good price. The guy is a fitness fanatic and hardly ever gets injured.

  3. Kampf has been a very good 3rd line center. The last 2 playoff seasons he has been the leafs best role-player at forward. Very good signing and he isn't overpaid what so ever.

  4. I'm ok with kampf, he showed up for the FL series (unlike most of the others). It also means ROR is probably not likely as Kampf is a critical defensive forward in the bottom 6.

  5. We may well be out on ROR. That was always the most likely scenario tbh, but not sure this signing changes much there imo. Assuming that they are eyeing Kampf at 3c, ROR could still he 2c on a Tavares-ROR-Marner line.

  6. I'm trying to contain my excitement. This is the equivalent of reusing the bath water.

  7. slight over payment for what he provides i get he is good on the pk and good faceoff guy but doesnt score much and does not hit or fight i think 2 million per would have been max for me but i dont hate the deal he olays hard just wish he would do more ….

  8. I thought Dubas might sign him

In all the years Dubas was here the only useful additions he made were Kampf, Bunting and Brodie, Sammy
Every other transaction I can recall was a
tire-fire, from Mrazek to Ritchie to Matt Murray at 4.6
I seriously think he just “threw darts” and even though he missed badly on most of his moves his designer glasses seemed to earn him this humongous contract from Pittsburgh

  9. Leafs obviously have a good regular season team SO run it back and trade at the deadline for playoffs help

  10. If your gonna walk back the core 4 then go sign Ryan Reaves so no one can take liberties at our star players…protect them and give them room to play without fear….please make video of tough guys the leafs can go and sign

  11. The Leafs pro-scouting dept. were very good at locating guys, overlooked, not qualified or fell through the cracks somehow & Kampf was one of them. Had a friend living in Chicago who phoned me after Dubas signed him to the 2 x 1.5M deal & said you're going to love Kampf. When I pointed out he'd only scored 1 G & 11 pts, his response was Kampf generally plays against the other team's # 1 line, especially in the D-zone & he's is utterly reliable. His opinion was Kampf was likely capable of 20-30 points on a good team. He was correct.

Kampf, Tavares & Giordano were graded as the fittest Leafs. Kampf is 6' 2" & 199 lbs, a really good skater & decently physical on top of all his defensive chops. Is it an overpay? Yes, I had hoped they could resign him for 2M aav, but in a sellers UFA market 2.4M is what it is, so IMO a wise retention. Sign Schenn & Acciari and I'll be happier still.

  12. Kampf is a good egg at 2.5. Shame to lose O’Reilly. Thankfully we got Knies. We need to add toughness. Marner/Nylander/Matthews need a puck fetcher in the post season. It was O’Reilly, Knies and to an extent Tavares.

  13. he gels with the team and will be a reasonable depth piece for 4 years, not terrible, decent signing

  14. I like everything about this signing. Great defensive center, works his ass off, kills penalties really good. I was hoping they resigned him. I think this means that ROR is not coming back though unfortunately..stupid salary cap lol

  15. Kampf is good but he doesn't have what the Leafs need in the playoffs. I would have rather seen 2 years at 2 mil.

  16. Sorry but if David Kampf our third line centre, that just highlights our depth issues. The dude scores 5-10 goals per year, he's a 4th liner on a contending team
