He was one of my favorite players
Zucker is the voice
Jason Zucker has taken over this role this season
He was my favorite when he was on the team. His style of play and passion and tenacity was amazing.
Zucker did kind of take over this role. I naturally thought rust would take over this role a bit, but he just doesn’t have the size and grittiness that horny had. I also believe that horny was one of the best net front presence players in the entire league. This is invaluable on the power play. Reminded me of 96 on Detroit back in the day.
If they can move out granlund, Carter, dumo and petry. Replace them with the right players and then figure out the goaltending situation. I feel this team can easily make another run.
Yep, they never replaced him. You need gritty guys, guys who will mix it up. I know people nowadays don't like hearing that, people want it to be all about "speed," but that's just not how it is. Look at Florida and Vegas. They're both loaded with gritty players who play physical and go to the dirty areas. The Penguins literally have no one that does.
