Would it not be smart to split up their two best dmen, then fire off Hughes and Hronek if they’re down a goal?
I' m , watching and noticing Faber is trying to be the 'man'. This was a nice difference.
If Hronek is known for his offensive mind and having defensive issues then why would you put him together with Hughes who is an offensive threat on the ice. So you are putting 2 offensively minded defencemen on the ice as a pairing? Your better off finding a defensive defencemen for both in the offseason and having a first and second line pairing. Hughes as your first line and Hronek as your second line. Makes more sense. Need to get rid of OEL and Myers in the off season. Buyout for OEL and a draft pick for Myers. I also wanted to mention and hasn't been brought up does anyone have any concern with the massive hit Hronek took from Ryan Reeves in December where I believe Hronek has and may have in the future lingering concussion issues if he is hit again. I have not seen a hit that direct and with so much impact to the head since Scott Stevens on Paul Kariya in the 2003 Stanley Cup Final where Kariya was never the same player again. Is this the main reason why Hronek is out of the line up and Canucks are saying its a shoulder injury. I think there is something that dosen't smell right. Did Stevie Y just fleece the Canucks. I hope not but go take a look at that hit and I think that is one of the reasons Stevie Y let Hronek go. Potential future concussion issues.
